    Default Windows still loves us

A few days ago was running my old faithful XP so as to give it a online refresh. Noticed the modem was downloading a lot of data and on shutting down was surprised to see the Windows logo appear and a window with "Windows is installing updates, do not switch off your computer it will switch off automatically."

Thought this was in the past.

Microsoft is just not issuing any 'new' XP updates, but all previous updates are still available.

Yes, this update was well after the XP close off date and the computer had been on line quite often. Around the close off date there was a number of updates, think I remember 8 in the one hit.

It has been two months now since XP support was closed off so was rather intrigued when this batch came up.

Were they actual XP OS updates though?

There have been several Office updates I have noticed, but I haven't noticed any XP OS updates.

The usual Windows logo appeared beside the close down button as it always did when upgrades were loaded.

To the best of my knowledge they were Windows upgrades for XP.
