Hi all,
I want to buy a switch that will allow me to connect,
Dlink router,
emachine computer - desktop
WD Media player
friends laptop occasionally,
I have limited funds and space, can anyone here please advise, recommend or even supply a suitable unit?

If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!
Your WD Mediaplayer and your mates laptop most likely would be able to connect via WIFI (wireless) which your current DLINK router might already be capable of? check model number
failing that, any network switch should do the job for you

I'm with Oceanboy - is the way to go, TP Link are quite cheap but Gigabit will give you the speed and reliability.

Thank you OB, I bought it from Officeworks and it arrived about an hour ago.
I want to SCREAM not enough lan cables I must have given all mine away and the switch does not come with a single one SHIT, POO, BUM BITCH ....

What switch does come with them???
(Any good Austech member should have 3 cardboard boxes full of old AV leads, HDMI leads and a spaghetti size clump of various LAN cables of different colours and lengths)

In a previous life I had a double garage full of cables, hard drives, you name it, I also had a house, boat etc....
Now I have one room in housing, all you need is a marriage failure, health probs, and no continuance in job contract due to lack of funding (University) all at the same time ...... BOO FVCKING HOO .... my sob story .... and, also, if you are as lucky as me, then you loose all your super in paying off family debts.
