    Default Win 7 display issue

    Hi All,

I keep getting the above message virtually every other day, I have googled the issue and have applied several fixes but nothing seems to make it go away permanently.

    My PC basic specs are:
    I5-4570
    8GB x 1600 ram
    Z87M plus mobo
    240GB SSD
    R9-270 GPU

Any idea how to stop it permanently..............

    Thank you

and following 1 link to another finds

This may help you. It is a change to the registry I found while on the internet. It seems to have fixed the issue on my computer as I have not had the message since. As normal with changes to the registry, back it up and use at your own risk.

The answer on this link is the one by Havoc (who appears to have answered his own question) with the tick next to it.

windows 7 - Permanent fix for.

    It goes

Since Windows doesn't understand how resources work, you need to keep it from checking them:

    In regedit go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM (create if not already existent)

Set a new DWORD UseMachineCheck with a value of 0.

This will keep Windows from checking if your computer "performs slowly" and thus attempting to disable Aero.

could try this too, set to best performance, you got updated vga drivers?

Quick update it appears I hadn't ticked the compatibility box on the game I play and since doing so the message has not been displayed, Thxs again to Viewer and Phil
