Check Event Viewer.
The last few days when I shut the computer down running WIN8, I get the usual blue screen and rotating dots but then up pops the message of an APP that it's delaying the closure.
A very small Icon of the APP appears but its too small and only last a few seconds for me to try and work out what it is.
In the brief time it is displayed, I have put the cursor over it, clicked both sides of the mouse but its gone and the computer shuts down.
Is there any way I can find out what this APP is as I dont use many APPS other than the FF browser, to try and see why its slow closing?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Look Here -> |
Check Event Viewer.
In Windows 8 Event Viewer:
• open Applications and Services - Microsoft - Windows - Diagnostics-Performance - Operational
• look for Shutdown Performance Monitoring, i.e. events 200 and 203. They identify time delay and what process caused it. Note: Record not available, if you restarted the PC by hardware power button.
Thanks for the replies but now I have to try and understand what the hell its telling me.
One thing that bugs me with this computer is it will self shut down after a period YET I have ticked/enabled the 'NEVER' shutdown section.
