Yes, it's Microsoft's try to pull customers in the online versions of their Office programs. The real meaning behind this action is to stop software piracy.
And Office 365 (currently) is only with Windows 7 or later and Mac OS X 10.6 or later compatible

Could you imagine Bill not "accidentally" looking at Apple's Office 365 account?
Windows NT 3.1 'Advanced Server' - the server edition of NT - had unlimited numbers of client connections, no CALs to be purchased. Then it went down to 250 with 3.5. Then it went to CALs that you had to purchase.
Give em time. They'll reduce and then start charging for this 'free' space too.
On the outside it sounds quite good. But deep down, it is only suitable for people that have unlimited internet download data limits.
For the mobile user, you would firstly need to have phone coverage (limited in Australia); and secondly, a user would need to have a very large download data limit (very costly in Australia).
It has a place to share photos/docs with other family members; but with the recent security breaches with online storage, and the shear cost of mobile internet, I won't be leaving anywhere without my portable HDD.
Office 365 and online storage is not for me.
