    Default Changing android device name

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to change an android device name....as an example when you look at your modem/router page and it shows an attached Android device as for example " android-b9c00140f4ca2e63 "

    TIA

Well its a bit of a pain in the arse.

For my devices that are rooted, I used an app called DNS Hostname Changer. It worked well but requires super user access on the rooted device.

That leaves me with 2 android m8 boxes.......I will post back if I get anywhere. I cant believe its so hard to do.

For mine I don't worry about renaming the device, I rename them in the router, much easier (if you have a router that supports that of course)

I'm using a Fritz!box 7390 which fortunately does allow renaming devices, makes any troubleshooting or config much easier

You may want to look into Belkin routers because they're very good for the price. They also allow you to rename devices on your network, as you're asking to do for your Android device. Here's the the link at the bottom if you're interested.

This is what I've done to change the name of my two Smart TV desktop Android boxes.
