So Microsoft are going to have a browser alternative to Internet Explorer, code named "Spartan", really guys, think about it, might as well call it Explorer Internet, it will be the same tart, just in a different dress.

Sorry alphaone, you got in while I fartarsed around getting a drink, exactly my thoughts.

As much as I don't like IE I use it to watch Youtube etc. Mozilla requires the Flash player and chews up all my memory and ultimately freezes the computer in the process.

Just disable Flash in Firefox and continue to watch Youtube.
It might complain first for a second (OMG, wheres's Flash?) but then the video magically plays.

Edit: I am not 100% sure if Youtube has every video html5 compatible, but I have never had a problem.

Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.

    Upgrade to Firefox 37!

With Firefox 37 videos no longer with Adobe's Flash Player are played, but played with HTML5 Web technology. Thus not only faster - according to YouTube videos load between 15 and 80% faster, they consume less bandwidth. Theoretically, even videos with ultra high 4 and HD resolution at 60 frames per second can be replayed.

    Drawback: Only 32-bit version available.

Firefox 37 is available on Mozilla's public FTP server. It is usually not a good idea to download it from there directly as last minute changes may make a different build the release build.

While this does not happen often, it did happen in the past.

Probably the best way to upgrade is to run a manual update check in the browser. You do that by tapping on the Alt-key on your keyboard and selecting Help > About Firefox from the menu bar at the top that is displayed when you do that.
