Default Chinese headunit - Bricked Xtrons

    Hi folks.
I appear to have bricked my Xtrons head unit (a PF71FSF).
The main board side of things all appears OK, (radio, SD, tv, dvd) - however the GPS just sits there on "Welcome to Navigation System" and does nothing else.
I can't appear to get it to flash. I have the original firmware files (.nb0, .bin and a few more) and putting those on a correctly formatted SD card & booting from GPS does nothing. I've tried a few cards to be safe and also tried the USB port connected to the GPS side of things.
Very much a problem as I need a GPS for a trip next weekend! Hope someone can help.

Did you try doing a reset on the unit?

Yes, there's only a soft reset on this particular machine, no (at least publicly) available hard reset. Also been left off the power for 20 odd hours too.
