Default Servicing satellite actuator arm - motor.

    Hi everybody
I have had mesh satellite dishes up for about three years. I am just wondering what other folk do out there to service - maintain their dishes actuator arm - motor.
    Thanks everybody.

I have an 18 inch actuator thats never been installed so I had a read of the still enclosed instructions and it makes no mention of any 'In Use' maintenance of it except to say that the 'Weather Rubber Accordion, Motor Boot, Reed Sensor replacement and other parts are available from your Dealer'..............10 years later? I doubt it..........
I would prefer others who do have these in operation to advise it its safe to lubricate the pivot points or not but other than visually inspecting any 'Accordions or Boots', these not lot to service.
I am wondering if its a good idea to run the dish from H to H every so often to keep the internal moving parts (Worm/gears and bearings) lubricated?

Best thing is to keep the arm clean, as build up of dirt on the drive causes the motor work harder and can cause eventual failure.

Also, ensure seals on the motor are in good condition. Water/moisture ingress causes corrosion.
