I have a number of older clients who all struggle with visualising a network.
Like everyone these days they have PC's / Laptops / Games / Media players / Mobile Phones / printers etc etc all connected via wireless networks yet none (or very few) seem to be able to visualise their own networks.
The only way I seem to be able to through to them, when asking the relevant questions I need answers for when attempting to diagnose problems, is to draw it on a piece of paper, along the lines of this;
Does anyone know of a simple program that can be run and will show a graphical representation of a home network and perhaps allow the renaming of the item yet will still show IP's and MAC addresses.
I realise this can be done through Windows to an extent but the major problem I have is getting these (pensioners - some are now 85+) to remember instructions, much of the work I do for them (free) is by remote access and a simple icon or shortcut would make things so much simpler.
Thanks in advance
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.
