    Default Suggest a NBN ISP

    HI

I am looking for a new ISP, am currently with Internode NBN. The service is ok but I'm on a low income and would like to bring costs down or get better value.

I am currently paying $105 for 50/20 Mbit with 600Gb quota, $15 for mobile ($200 call & text) and $5 for VoIP ($10 free calls) = $125 a month. I do use my quota so going less would defeat the purpose.

I have put my address into the NBNCo database but there is not a great deal of appealing ISP which seem to have good backhaul, am looking at maybe getting Netflix as well.

Who do you use, quota, extras, price, etc. Thanks

    I've had great success with
    SPINK.TEL
    Christopher G. Russell
    Level 1 - 1251 Nepean Hwy
    Cheltenham VIC 3192
    p 1300 30 21 03
    e cr@spinktel.com.au
    w

Couldn't be happier with the service, the backup, the pricing - these guys just bend over backwards.
My site plans are all 1TB 100/40 - Pricing is somewhat negotiable so I won't disclose but if you know how to play one against the other you won't be disappointed.
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

I just had a quick chat with an online sales staff at Optus and they are offering:

    *Unlimited Data
    *Unlimited Local & National calls
*Unlimited Mobile calls to all Australian mobile carriers
    *13/1300 $0.35 per call
*Unlimited international calls to 25 Selected countries 7 of which you can call the mobile

    *13/1300 $0.35c per call
    *Fetch TV with 35+ Channels
    *30 Pre-selected movies
    *1TB of recording
    * Pause, rewind and record digital free-to-air TV

The only issue I see is contract. 24 months - $375 to get out, less after 12 months ...anyone with them?

    thanks

    At what price ?

It really comes down to what you want and what you need. Obviously that deal is providing more than just Internet.

Have you checked Telstra's offers ? No matter how many times I change internet provider, I always end up back at Telstra. Earlier this year, I was also with Internode which was expensive as hell......moved to Telstra and got 500 gig ADSL for $69.95. At Internode I was getting 300 gig for $99.95.

A side note, but its disappointing to see that Whirlpool has pulled down Broadband Choice. It was a good tool to see what offers were out there.

Telstra's Critical Information Summaries with prices are here.

There is a bit of discussion about their plans here

That is sad that Broadband choice has been pulled, it was a good tool. I wonder if a member or two here has the time and the motivation to set something like that up for Austech members, maybe in the Premium Members area. It may be a good add on that would encourage more members.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

It would be a massive job that also involves constant updating of plans and companies as they change. Its hard to get anyone here to do much other than whine and complain (thats on a good day ), so I wouldn't look forward to getting lumbered with it.

I'd guess it became too much for Whirlpool and they have more resources

I'm with devotednbn fixed wireless, unlimited everything at 12/1 and costs $70 a month. Came off satellite which was horrendously expensive, unreliable and lucky to get 23kb download speed maximum. Checked out a friend who has 25/5, but only gets 2-5meg speeds on peak times and decided to try out 12/1. Turns out we are the only ones on this beam and the tests are giving us 11.8meg down and .98meg up all the time, there prices seem the same for wireless and fibre.

We live on a hill above the town and there is no one in front or behind us, so the tech says we have the entire beam to ourselves and no one can built on front or behind us. So there are some advantages in living in a small Tassie town.

The only problem I've had, was getting my Linux systems set up for it, as everything revolves around apple.microsoft and had to work it out myself. Now it rocks and can watch anything we want for once, was amazed at how fast it downloaded a 3.6g distro. Normally it takes the night to do it and during the day, never. Set the download for 1600hrs and it was done in within the hour. So very happy so far with our new provider and got connected within a week of applying.

    I've got iinet . 100/40mbps. 1000gb per month.
Except for the first few weeks of the Australian Netflix starting, I can always download above at least 5-6mb a sec. Sometimes hitting 13
