Can't go past Ubiquiti Unifi AP's.
is the best place to get them.
Hi Everyone
I have been using this Cisco WAP321 AP for the wireless at home, originally I had a young friend, a friend of my daughte,r set this up for me and did not bother to check settings. Now finally after about a year I find out that this device is not dual band i.e. it either operates on 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz but not both
I do not believe I am wrong, the device settings and "on" or "off" of the 5Ghz is chalk and cheese... obviously as some household devices only run on 2.4Ghz, the advantage of this device have 5Ghz is useless to me
I am going to look at replacing this with another ... any experience or recommendations?
Many thanks in advance

Ubiquiti Unifi UAP AP would be sufficient. Just over $100
I am not sure if this does the trick.... When I refer to dual band I want to be able to have simultaneous connections to both 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz and not only be allowed to have one on at any time

Sorry your OP wasn't very clear that you wanted dual band.
You will need
Ubiquiti Unifi Pro UAP-PRO
For dual band. Price is a fair bit steeper though.
Thanks all ... I found another easy answer.
As I had access to another Cisco WAP321 I connected that also to the wired network. One unit runs at 2.4Ghz and the other at 5Ghz.... obviously 2 SSIDs apply works a treat.
This also gives me some redundancy and or fault isolation should one play up.
I do though like the TP unit with the USB options, ... I might try that in the future
