If it's a downloaded file it may have been corrupted during download (try downloading it again), sometimes the zip folder is present after a download failure but all the required info is not inside it.
or it is possibly a .rar file that has had the extension changed (try renaming the extension to .rar)
or it is 1 of a multi-part zip file & wont be valid until all parts are in the same directory & the #1 zip is unzipped.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Forgot one, if it was an email attachment, it could have contained a virus or perceived by your virus protection software to have contained one & may have had it's internals quarantined to protect you.

Winzip has been hacked and divulging info, read it yesterday will look for link
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"
There's also the possibility the OP's post is part of recent spam activity on Austech.... eg: a new member posts a question about a software problem about opening files etc.... then another new member responds with "I always use xyz (with a download link) and have no problems.
I smell a rat on this one too, as the OP hasn't been back since their one-and-only post of the forums.
Chances are I've already banned the intended 'replying' accomplice.

Just a thought, Maybe we should reverse lookup these "one hit wonders" and set them up to receive all of our bounced spam. I'm sure, with all the membership here, we could easily find a few million adverts for viagara or the like. Maybe just a simple DOS attack on them might work. Pity I'm not that literate in these things or I'd volunteer.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Yep these time wasters are no better than the thanks brigade we had last year.
Get 'em mtv.

I wonder if we should make new users contribute to a few existing threads first - before they can start a new thread? It might cut this sort of time wasting nonsense out?
Actually, some for to which I have subscribed even has a can't post until the mods vet your first five posts.

Ultimately it's up to admin to determine the joining/thread requirements.
The problem with requiring a minimum number of posts usually just leads to spammers posting crap to get the minimum count numbers up to start a thread, which can actually increase the amount of crap posts mods have to delete.
Personally, I'd like to see all new members vetted, with an ISP email address for confirmation.
That makes a lot of work for admin and mods and can cause a delay for genuine new members, but it has worked for another site I know of.
Some spammers will always slip though the cracks... but you'd be surprised how many are picked up and banned before they can make their first post on Austech, of which admin and mods spend a fair amount of behind-the-scenes time which members rarely hear about.
