Default how to open a PPSX. file?

I have just got an email with this extension that appears to be a M/S Powerpoint file from M/S OFFICE which I dont have however I have been using the Apache version happily for some time but it cant find this extension.
I just updated Apache to 4.1.1 but this extension still isnt listed.

I cant remember now if MS Office was available for a trial version when I bought this computer ages ago or had to be bought before it could be used which I considered to be too expensive for what little use I would make of the program, plus I am too mean to pay if theres a 'freebie' available.

Even to rent at $9 a month is $10 too dear for my limited use.

Any help would be appreciated, no money, just appreciation..................

Duckduckgo is your friend, i.e. .

The first hit, , will be useful (read the article).

PPSX files can be opened with Microsoft PowerPoint and the free Kingsoft Presentation ().

Download link is on the page.

    Let us know the outcome.

Do you know the person who the email is from ? If you dont, I would recommend not opening it.

Firstly, after much stuffing about, mainly due to my ineptitude I used diavolo13666 program and it worked, thanking you very much.
Phil, I am still waiting for your program to download (wanted 1 hour 6 minutes???) so I didnt wait.
Sorry tristen but I got lost in the Kingsoft presentation so I gave that one away too.
Admin, unfortunately I do know the sender of this email but then, the poor Sod knows me tooo

Weirdly I managed to sort of RUN it with VLC but it didnt display the captions on each picture and threw in a few other images as well, no idea where they came from.

Thank you all for the programs which if they didnt work will be down to me being too stupid to use them correctly as usual.

I am definitely going to apply for my Certificates of Ineptitude and lack of Intuitiveness with Computer programming which will save hours of explaining why it just dont work for me..........

Well, the email was 10 pictures of an Evangalistic Nature called 'The 10 things GOD wasnt interested in on that Day' with suitable music of an uplifting of eyes to Heaven theme.
The sender tends to be up to date with the latest programs available as in this case using this PPSX. ext which I dont have.
I have no idea why I get these every now and again unless the senders thinks I might still 'See the Light' even at my age.
For the amount of time and energy I put into trying to OPEN the slideshow of 30 seconds was totaly wasted.

even though your dl is slow
should grab that 07 zip off my site for ron
no numbers, no activating, has all the programs, & you can just install what you need if wanted
like power point but not the rest.

Wow what a run around Gordon, phew, as linked to by diavalo13666, the Microsoft free viewer for office products will open the file.

Anyway thanks to phil you have something better.

Now Rar Frog doesn't do .zip files so that's why it don't work for you in this situation.

For .zip files; from Vista onwards the ability to zip & unzip files in embedded in Windows for free.
Just click on the file when it opens in a window you will see the contents of the file, at the top of the window should be a button that says 'Extract all files' or 'Extract all', you click on that & that's what it does.
Only thing that may inhibit this process; is that if you have winzip installed & expired, you may have to uninstall that from 'Programs & features'/ 'Uninstall a Program', before the default windows zip function will work.

seems to handle any compressed format that I throw at it. Not related to PPSX, though. As has already been discussed, that is most likely a powerpoint 2010 file for which, as has already been said, M$ offers a free PPoint reader.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Tiny, I wondered why I had the option to extract zipped files but it stayed 'Grey' when I chose a program to extract it.
I deleted winzip, went to File explorer, found the Office 7 program Phil listed and clicked on it to see the 'extract' appear, clicked on ALL and awaaaaay we wented !!!!! YEEEEAAAHHH.
Also why that Extract Frog program didnt want to work or recognise the file format.
I hate loading programs almost as much as deleting them because unless like now where it was explained clearly what is happening and the expired version of WINZIP was basicaly blocking the feature provided in WIN10.

Hopefully thats all Folks until someone sends me something in a new format I dont have so I will sign off and go play in traffic until then.

Well done Gordon, I'm glad it all ended up working for you, technology is only useful when we get the expected result.
