Default GME Kingray masthead amp power supply

    Hi all,

I installed a kingray masthead amp in around 2000 and the tenant took the masthead amp power injector. Without getting up on the roof to see what model it is can someone make an educated guess as to which one it might have been?
I looked on the GME website and there are many different models!!!

    TIA.......Leroy

Problem is Leroy, some are AC others are DC and different voltages for both.

Some of them have internal links which can be selected for various voltages.... but you'll need to know the model to be sure, as you may need to change links in the amp as well.

Bummer thanks for that. I looked up at the antenna yesterday and thought I should get up and take a look and see what model it is. I might still have the paperwork in a box up here otherwise it's back down with a ladder in a couple of weeks when I come down next. Or are you in the Northern burbs in the next week or 2?

Leroy, just remember if ' A Ladder you go a'climbing' that you take care flipping open the cover JUST IN CASE' you have another tenant abiding within............
Also if you can remember back all those years ago, did you just clip it shut or did you use the securing screw many have to prevent them opening?

When people ring me & don't want to pay a call-out fee, I used to tell 'em to get a PSK06 - this covered most bases.

Trouble is, they don't seem to be available any more, they have been replaced by KPS06, & after the first few of these I tried failed, I never purchased them again.

Leroy, I've got one of those power supplies, of that vintage, here in the shed.
I don't need it so I'll dig it out in the morning if you like & post to you on Wednesday if you PM me your address.
    Cheers, Tiny

VHF is everywhere but the band isn't the issue, it's not having a power injector for the masthead amp.

    Ok, I dug it out & it's a GME Kingray PSK02 - output is 22VAC @100mA.

As MTV said there is a few different models of amps, some DC some AC.
You will still have to check the Mast head amp to see if it's compatible, it's of no use to me so I'll post it out to you any way.
    Cheers, Tiny

So long as you have the CORRECT injector (MUST be for either AC or DC) you can use another transformer to power up the MHA(s).
At the present time I have 2 inline MHA's, one at the Antenna and the other near the house and my transformer with a selectable voltage is putting out 19Volt DC at 3.5Amp.
I went for the higher current output when it was suggested to me that the 100/150 mA general output from the supplied plug pack might not be sufficient to power up my system.
    Apart from the 2 MHA's, I also have 110 metres of Co-Ax (RG6 Quad) between the 2 MHA's.
I have been using this now for the last 5 years.
Kingray/GME over the years has fiddled around with the voltages ranging from 12 Volt to around 22Volt, both AC and DC which doesnt help picking the right power pack.

As an aside to Philquad, according to the Myswitch Digital site, Bathurst (Home of the Mount Panorama Race Circuit) is VHF !!
Dont ask me why when Orange and most everywhere else went UHF.

Leroy, have you had time yet to see what type and voltage that MHA missing the injector is?
