Default Anyone got a copy of W7 Ultimate 32 bit I can copy?

I'm trying to resurrect a PC for a friend who was given the machine some years ago. It was getting rather warm and I found that the heatsink on the CPU was not particularly well attached, easy fix. The video card was fried, so replaced that. Now W7 would not start, so I thought, OK extract Product codes (done) and start again. Except, all I have is 64bit versions of W7, his code does not seem to be happy with 64bit. Of course he does not possess a recovery disk, and nowhere I've tried seems to have a decent 32 bit version of 7.

If I could, I'd blow it all away and install Linux, but, he would not be happy with that, so, can anyone point me to a good copy of w7 32bit that I can download, please.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Tried that, Hoe, but, for some reason, M$ does not like the product key even though I have tried it numerous times and numerous ways. The system had been running for years using that key, so it should not be an issue. If I use my own key, I may end up with W7 64 bit again.

Windows returns with 0xC004E003 - licensing validation failed. when I try to register using 64bit.

If the code is genuine then it doesn't matter if it is 32Bit or 64Bit, was he using a Loader maybe?

It might've been an upgrade disk, an upgrade key doesn't work - I've already tried using one.

Never thought of that WhiteOx, if it was an OEM key that won't work either.

I'll upload some thing for you to play with in the morning it's a large file so it will take some time.
I suspect that his key may be not Ultimate.

I even went to the trouble of re-extracting the key to ensure that I had copied it correctly, I had. I've managed to re-boot into his copy of Windoze (Good thing I was attempting to install to a new drive) and sysinfo tells me that it was an OEM Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. The Only sticker on the machine is for XP! aaaaargh!! I might be bashing my head against the wall here.

Then he was either running a loader or his BIOS is SLIC 2.1 compliant, seeing as the sticker is XP I'm going to guess he was running a loader, if you want to find out if his BIOS is SLIC 2.1 compliant, download RWEverything (I use the Portable versions on a USB stick) from, and see if it comes up with a SLIC tab. (latest VirusTotal check on RWEverythingPortablex64V1.6.8.1)

As per the image below, when you run RWE select the (1) ACPI tab, then if there is an SLIC Tab (2) in the window that opens, check that, if the 2 hex bytes circled in (3) are 20 01 the its SLIC 2.1 and therefore able to install the OEM version of Windows 7 (32Bit or 64Bit) Ultimate, Professional, Home Premium or Home Basic. If it has an SLIC tab but the 2 Bytes circled are 20 00 then it is only SLIC 2.0 capable, and thats Vista, no SLIC tab and he must have been running a loader, or upgrade.

PS, in the SLIC Tab Window, you can scroll down the bottom that will also tell you what version SLIC it is.

Here you go x17-59463.iso untouched, the last win 7 U x86 iso downloaded from DigitalRiver the official MS site until recently.
if you can boot his system use Belarc Advisor or Magical Jelly bean to find the key

don't forget to set updates to 'notify but let me decide when to download' then after it is done finding updates, hide the 18 or so that want to send all your stuff to MS !

OEM key is supposed to work iirc as well as retail and MSDN keys.

Thanks for your help guys, I finally managed to convince w7 to load. (Ask me no questions and I'll tell no lies.) I then had the dickens of a job convincing Office 2007 (which was also installed) to load. I had a valid key but it would always fall over at proof.cab, which is a common problem. None of the fixes that I found would let me get past that one. Actually, one fix did work, and that was to install office 2010 in stead. He now has a working computer running Windoze 10 and Orifice 2010.
