Default Ozi explorer and vic high country maps

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a download link for the above. Is this still the way to go? I loaded the version I have and it's quite old but I also can't find all my maps including ones I bought!
I also can't find my paper maps of the Davies High Plain - Benambra area! Off to Rays at lunch as I can survive with paper maps and hand held GPS.

I'm wanting to go along limestone track which I did almost 10 years ago before I had kids (wow how time flies) and thought this would be a nice long weekend trek this weekend.

I've not been into this GPS mapping stuff for some years as you just get busy with kids etc. and don't head off the beaten track as much. What's the version like for an Android phone?

    Cheers,
    .....Leroy

I find HEMA probably the fastest and easiest.
But if you want to most detail as you can get, you have to make custom maps
(often older editions that have lots of extra tracks and details, as Parks Vic delete them on future maps)

One of the best maps i have in the car, is the Ambulance map for my area.
It is the most detailed map i have, shows houses with owners names, tracks, creeks, bridges you name it

I've always used a laptop and to give you an idea how long it's been, Chinese GPS weren't really out there that much! Just looking around I see the file types have changed. I think there was only .map and ecw?? files.

@ob I was happy with the topo maps but there are a couple of different tyres. Some are clearer and better than others.

I will shoot down the Kiewa valley to Mt Beauty 50mins and up to falls ck 30mins and then over the top past Rocky Dam (prob stop at the huts with the kids as we haven't don't it for a few years) and all the way to the Omeo Hwy and down to Anglers Rest where the Blue duck is for Lunch. ACross to Benambra and to Limestone Track and head for a camping spot by the mighty Murray river. Then next day back up and to Davies high plain track all the way to Tom Groggin. Then home via Khancoban, Corryong etc to Wodonga.

First real trip out in the Ranger.

I found that link when googling last night thanks. I prob don't need any map but it's more for insurance.

Festy has Victoria 1:50k topo maps for OziExplorer on his site. Also on there are 1:25k and 1:100k topo maps for NSW.

Ah you on the trails right now Leroy?
Yes, we had some cracking winds here yesterday, but because of the range, we were mostly protected.
But i can imagine, any mountainous areas would be smashed at present.

I loved the battle scars. You know it's a natural and not a hatchery fish! I picked that picture to post because it had the pics in it. They caught a few little ones and were happy.
