if your goin to waste your $ on intel lol, why not go 1151 socket, 1150 is going, ddr4 is as cheap as ddr3, 1151 i5 is cheaper than i5 1150 ?

The newer Gigabyte Mobos may be ok, but, be warned, (I have a Gigabyte Mobo) their BIOS backup routine somehow manages to, on rare occasions, "convert" a 1TB drive into a whopping 33Mb one! It happened to me, and, from research, it is not that uncommon. This, after the system has been running with 3 seperate 1TB drives connected to it and stable for several years! One day, co-incidentlly, the same week as I upgraded W7 to W10, which I blamed initially, it decided that one of my drives was too big!!!!! Turns out it is something to do with the BIOS backup routine on Gigabyte mobos that clobbers the MBR and Partition tables. The drive then, in BIOS, reports as the DOS maximum of 33Mb. A quick google will .

oh! and for the money MSY.com seem to be the cheapest out there. (No, I have nothing to do with them, just a happy customer)

You should forget about i5 and go for i7

    Intel Core i7-4710MQ @ 2.50GHz

Your chipset will depend on the model of your CPU. Haswell (older model, socket 1150, model 4XXX) requires H81, B85, H97, or Z97. Skylake (latest model, socket 1151, model 6XXX) requires H110, B150, H170, or Z170.

I've used Gigabyte stuff before without issue, but I've had three (well, 2 1/2) Asrock boards die on me. I think every manufacturer has some faulty boards and it's pretty much lucky draw.

Your build seems pretty overkill for a download box with burning

Why i7? i5 with plenty of ram will keep kicking on unless you want to 3D render or something of the likes...

I 3rd the Asus motherboard comments Their boards are amazing these days and the customer support when something goes balls up is excellent

Two cents - if the machine is only going to be used for burning (DVDs presumably) and downloading only - and the DVD part doesn't involve encoding video - a core i3 IMO would be heaps.
