    Default Intelsat 8 - FTA

Intelsat 8 - FTA (All below are Ku band)

TV Plus, normally encrypted is FTA (they have been having technical issues for last week, as a result, all channels FTA) ENJOY
    RTS
    RTS Plus
    B92
    BN
    Pink Plus
Pink Extra (Current playing in English is a US war movie, something about a US plane and pilots downed in enemy territory. Not sure what it is, but is quite good)
    TV1
    RTRS
    Kopernikus
    Studio B
    TV2
    SOS
    DM Sat
Atlas TV (Current movie in English has our Elle MacPherson in it... thinking possibly Sirens) - Hmmmm, Elle being naked..... yum
    Duga
    A1
    M TV1
    MTV Plus
    BHT
    BHT1
    BHT2
    HTV
    HTV1
    HR Plus
    ERT

Another channel to save in your bouquet is normally FTA all the time:
MTV China (both C & Ku)
They recently televised the EMA Awards, something that was only available in Australia via Fox/Aus. Here it's free.

Panglobal have channels that are FTA all the time. They are:
    Syrian TV
    ERI TV
    Southern Sudan
    Bethel TV

Unless you have super large dish in NZ, I doubt you would pick up any of those channels, as the TP's footprint for those channels is mainly for OZ, plus little bit for US (California).

Same with those that you receive in NZ (AirangTV and MacTV), they are all on the Ku transponders with a foot print on NZ. So I doubt anyone here in OZ will be able to receive those.

But, happy to be corrected. I did receive airang once, can't remember whether it was Ku or C, but not anymore.

What we can share on I8 is "C" band; as what you receive in NZ, we should receive the same too in OZ.
Only difference is that in NZ you will need a larger dish being on the fringe of the footprint.

I don't think so, but then again, I'm no language expert.
It would be best on checking the lyngsat site and clicking on each individual channel I have listed.

Apart from what LP mentioned, there is a FTA English Russian channel called Russia Today "RT" on D2 (Ku band).
RT is a news channel and works on a similar format to Aljazeera (C1) and Press TV (D2), all of which are Ku and FTA.

I haven't scanned IS 8 Ku in a long time. I'm getting MTV China in C band, what is the Ku frequency.
