well that didn't work for long, same again today & lost another forum & none of the solutions work now.

So I have concluded that due to school holidays my internet is so slow, that some forums just dump you by timing out.

I even failed speedtest; first it wouldn't load then it loaded, started test, peaked at 20kb/s & froze at 5b/s.
Hmm, I'm on NBN interim satellite broad band & not over data usage so not being shaped.
There is a farking new satellite up there & they keep delaying installations.

All credit to the host of Austech forum as I have no issues & it doesn't even appear slow, well to me anyway on my less than dial up speed broad band.
Postimg.org was easy as well, guess the upload isn't affected as much as download.

You need more copper in your NBN to be truly innovative.

yep, asked last year when it all went slow & was told nothing can be done about it as NBN Co. oversold the bandwidth.
There will be periods of time that slow to a crawl & that's what it does.
Frankly; even though I do pay my bill, I feel that it's unfair that I should be paying anything for the current speed I'm getting.

Was also told when the new satellite comes on line (Last December) I would one of the first to be transferred over to it, guess I was lied to as I'm still waiting to be connected.

Unfortunately I just have to wait; as there is no alternative internet connection.
    Cheers, Tiny

Yes it was; however all satellite customers thru Activ8 are on the old Gov BB Guarantee or NBN interim service, which is on the same sat -IPStar; & get the same crap speed when the traffic gets high. Like now it's school holidays so it's crawling.

Averaging ~100Kb/s at the moment & wow it just peaked at 316Kb/s

One of my neighbours got moved over to Optus D2 when they tried load distribution to get the speeds back up on the service, but she says it's just a crawl on that sat as well.

Just talking to another neighbour who's on NBN thru Ipstar/Activ8 & he is really pissed off about the speed he's getting.
We are just dreaming of the day, hopefully soon when we will be moved to SkyMuster.

back on the original topic: I can get on to the Aprilia forum again by bypassing my router & using Googles DNS settings, just wish I could get my Router to use google DNS, however that seems a little like hard work.
Even tried my old router which is also a Linksys, no joy there.
It appears Linksys think that it would be much better to use their wacky cloud optimised DNS which I can't flush.
Guess it will flush itself eventually, he says with an optimistic giggle.

Thanks again to all that have helped with suggestions, even hoe for his sarcastic suggestion.
    Cheers, Tiny

Mate, make a complaint to your local MP, enclosing the speedtest and issues. Its surprising how fast things can move when you do.

lots of people have complained of slow satellite.
There's been a few articles on it.
Kids trying to do school of the air costing a fortune in downloads and not being able to see anything because it wont load.
Local members have been useless, especially Nationals who totally sold out their constituents for a crap deal on the NBN to play political games.

Your local member of Parliament is there to represent YOU, something that people forget - thats what they are actually there for. They can and do take complaints seriously, simply because they have to. They cant ignore your complaint, they cant fob you off or not address it. Your complaint will be heard.

So tell me, how is complaining to his ISP and the TIO going to get him on the new satellite any quicker ? Answer ? It wont. His ISP will blame someone else ( likely the Government or NBNCo) , and the TIO will say there is nothing we can do about it.

How is making a complaint to his local federal MP going to get him on the new satellite quicker ? He can prove he is receiving a speed that is far far below any acceptable level required to use the internet.

Spending half an hour writing a complaint and either emailing it or posting it to your MP achieves more than internet ranting, which achieves somewhere between #### all and nothing.

Not knowing where Tiny lives , he can find his federal member below :

    Bass - Andrew Nikolic (Liberal)
    Braddon - Brett Whiteley (Liberal)
    Denison - Andrew Wilkie (Independant)
    Franklin - Julie Collins (Labor)
    Lyons - Eric Hutchinson (Liberal)

A simple Google search should find their contact details.

Thats standard NBN, Tiny is waiting for the

Connections were expected to , so as he is not currently on it, I would be making a complaint to get on there ASAP.

You should know that doesnt work here mate, Austech is the only forum I know where a thread about stamp collecting could end with a post about immigration

Anyway, tiny has fixed his original issue and hopefully gets an upgrade in the near future.
