The Christmas special, Twice Upon a Time, will air in Australia on ABC at 7.30pm AEST December 26.
Or you may be able to catch it at a cinema near you
You can find out if it will be at a cinema near you .Doctor Who fans are getting a surprise these holidays - this year's Christmas Special, Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time, is hitting (some) Australian cinemas on Boxing Day.
There will be two exclusive bonus pieces played at the cinema events too - a behind the scenes look at the making of the Christmas special, and a celebration of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and Steven Moffat as showrunner and lead writer.

Is that the episode that was the on ABC on Monday night where the Doctor regenerates and becomes a woman??
Circumstances stopped me seeing all but the last 10 minutes of it but there is always iview.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Yeah, I think you pretty much saw all that was worth seeing then.
Other than that, I thought it was just another average Capaldi episode. I really hope that a new Doctor, new companion and new producer will breath some new life back into the show for the next season, although with a female Doctor I suspect it will be still more "politically correct" - "equal opportunity" - "we're okay with gay" crap?
I'd love for them to prove me wrong though, I'm on the verge of 'couldn't be bothered watching' right now.
Andrew
Script writers need to be re-invented. Capaldi could have been a doctor in the mould of Tom Baker, but was only given crap scripts to deal with. I hope the female brings some new life to the series. I gave up watching after Peter Davidson took over. Since then, I've seen every episode ever produced (including those from the original series). I'm wondering if the Beeb is trying to kill the Doctor by a thousand cuts. If they just decide to kill it off there will be a huge fan outcry.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
You would think that the last thing on the BBC's mind is to do anything that would push the fans away as they have the 'World's LONGEST running Sci-Fi program' which must give them some return on its costs to make.

I know that, and you know that, Gordon, I wonder if the bean counters do.

That's a bit of a bodgey time as most having Tea and watching the News no matter how mind numbing it is.........

You could record it & watch later.
or watch it earlier on iView. iView will have it available directly after the episode finishes airing in the UK. Which is sometime Monday am.
The first episode is a little longer than normal, so other episodes will start at 6pm Mondays.

I was debating what to do like record it because I can being on FTA ABC or watch it on VAST in the three time zones as I think DST starts this weekend..........Decisions, Decisions, Decisions..........

I've been debating whether I will even bother watching at all...
The whole 'extreme-political-correctness' thing really turned me off last year, if the new Doctor adopts an openly LGBT companion I think they will lose a lifetime viewer here.
I mean, I don't care what anyone's preferences are, but I can't see why they have to make such a big deal of pointing it out every 2.5 seconds.
Andrew
I'll still be watching, however I get what you're saying Bigfella.
I think we have a new writing & directing team this season, so should be worth a try to see what they do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I shall reserve my judgement until AFTER I see this bird as the Doctor. Personally, I liked Peter Capaldi, but the scripts that he had to work with were absolute crap!
