Default Weird problem Dreambox 7020s - please help

    Dear All,
first of all hello to all as I am brand new to the forum. I arrived here after googling about a weird and serious(?) problem I have with my dreambox (7020s).
Fairly recently I flashed the image to new Gemini 4.50. All well and fine until about a week ago, when I "lost" a lot - not all - channels. To cut a long story short, I discovered that dreambox cannot find any services on the hiband frequency range of Hotbird (i.e. after 11,800 approx.). I checked everything (LNBs, dish etc) - all OK. I contacted the distributors (I leave in Greece) and they told me that this is a weird problem that happened to at least another 4 tuners (7020s) after loading the latest versions of images - Gemini, PLi etc. The problem is that they cannot fix it even after they tried reloading other images even the original... I tried this too, without luck.
The only solution they have chosen is to send one faulty dreambox back to manufacturers, let them check it and find out what went wrong!!!
As the area I am leaving cannot get any terrestial TV, this means that I do not have access to major channels i.e. no TV entertainment. As I said the problem is around the hiband areas and not for all satellites... in my case only for Hotbird. The rest (Astra 19.2, Eurobird 28.2...) seem to be OK.

Any help - ideas are very welcomed.
    Thanks in advance

Check the 2SB772 transistor located between the tuner and the outside edge of the PCB.

I just wasn't sure if yours was an isolated case.

I've fixed 3 of them so far for the same problem. It's a bit of a bitch to pull apart... Next time I think I may just use the side cutters & just tack the replacment onto the old legs

a very easy fix compared to a dreambox mate...you should see how difficult it is to change an LNBP21 chip on a DM7020...absolute ballbreaker.

Octagon is a piece of cake....now that we know the culprit.

    I reckon I sound like stuck record...but it's all about earthing LNB's.
