    Default Xbox Backup creator ERROR

Just set up a new drive with Kreon looking forward to doing some ripping.

But when I try and install the xbox back up creator I get this error:

    RUN TIME ERROR 339

COMPONENT MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I've downloaded it three times from three diff places, still get the same error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

thats a VB file missing mate. check the windows kb here...

I dunno what they suggest, but when I have had to do this in the past I think you need to download the *.ocx file and put it in the system32 dir.

anyway have a look at what ms rekons and get back to us if ya got hassles

Every now and then you have to manually register an ocx (if shoving it in the sys32 folder doesn't work).

Run regsvr32 from the command prompt.

    regsvr32 [path/filename of ocx/dll] (doesn't have to be sys32).

Do you have your burner selected, Not the Kreon drive?

Also make sure you placed the correct media into the drive - i once put in a single layer (-) DVD and it took me a couple of minutes to work out what was going on.

    Thread necromancy..

Just did a clean install of windows and forgot to back up my xbox folder.

I'm getting the same error as the one I posted above but can't figure out how to get around it and install Xbox backup creator!

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

Use agbx360 to verify the image has been ripped/copied to the hard drive successfully.

Then use imgburn to write the image back to the dual layer dvd, selecting the associated .dvd file as the image to burn.

Hi all not sure if I'm in the right section for this post

Just having a little trouble getting SH D162D rom drv to except kreon flash v1.00
Does any one have any ideas to help point me in the right direction, I've tried everything even using an older version firmware for the drv, keeps coming up download fail when I check the rom firmware it says kreon v1.00, when I run Xbox creator it can't read security sector

    Thanks in advance

Make sure you are using the firmware suited to your drive... There is a SH-D162C version as well as a SH-D162D version.. and others.
