    Default Playlist of TS files

    G'day all,
I posted this in the PLI forum as well. Sorry if some people see it twice.
I have a DM500 with PLI Jade on it.
I have successfully mounted my USB drive through my PC to my DM500.
I am trying to use it as a video jukebox player for a party.
I can play the ts files one at a time but I am wanting them to play one after another. Or shuffle them ideally.
    Can this be done?
Is there some way to create a playlist for the 500 media player?
    Thanks,
    spence

the only image that seemed to have been able was gemini.

It did it when i ran gemini but since i gave it the flick no matter what image i use it does not , it will play one file then when it finishes it goes back to the list

I had better go and read the PLi site then (smile) as I put something under Iolite in the Streaming section of the Wiki about this, from memory [maybe it was deleted on the Jade upgrade] - but the short version was to open VLC on the PC create the playlist and restream it (the play list you created) to the 500 as the Sputnic video (screen shot) showed ..

dont think that is what he means jonc .

if i understand correctly he has a similar setup to mine

I DO NOT USE ANY APPLICATION TO STREAM

I have a hard drive mounted to the dream and within that hard drive i have all my video files already in ts format so the dream can play them as it wants without the need for vlc or any other crap.

Now with the earlier versions of gemini when i played one video and it finnished it automatically started to play the next video and so on .

But since gemini screwed up and i threw all gemini out when i play a movie when it finishes it automatically goes back to show the directory and all the files within, unlike the mp3 player which goes from one to the next which is what i gather he is wanting to happen.

Now i have it setup currently with a nas unit so do not even need a computer on anywhere in the house to play any movie within the mounted directory

    That's it fandtm666!!!!
That is exactly what I want to happen.
I am loathe to try Gemini because I bought the box 2nd hand and it may well be a clone.

Isn't there an option in the Recording set-up in PLi to automatically play the next movie file after the previous one finished? Is this what you want to do?

Yeah that was what I was trying to do. But that seems to be for streaming files. So at the completion of each file it sits there and buffers the next one.
Looks like I will be using a laptop with video out and MPC or VLC.
