    Default DM500s and H-H motor

    Hi All,

I have been playing with this for awhile trying not to post - just reading posts etc.

But i can't seem to work it out, ok i find true north, pole is plumb. Set it up in Dm500s - says it is going to 156 east, but it goes the completely opposite dirtection. This motor claims to be for the southern Hemisphere. Maybe it is for the northern?

Also when i move the motor in manual, it trips out. LNB shows 30% SNR and 0 everything else. This DM500s is powered from my pc power supply i would thinks this has enough power. Once i reset it no problems till it trips out again. Nothing is stopping the motor from moving.

Been trying to find a step-by-step guide but nothing around.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

I use the same method as posted by Fernbay, post 15 here on my DM 500s.

Make sure your power supply is strong enough.

Make sure you have not over tightened you f connector on the Motek, you may have twisted the connector off the circuit board inside the unit.

It just needs to be re soldered on...yep happened to me, sometimes it just wouldnt work.

Edit there is also a link in there that goes to the pli website for extra instructions.

Yea my east and west is opposite. Apart from that, everything else works fine. I set mine up manually. Loaded a Sat (EG: C1) then went into moving it. Must have a signal that is alive to find. Once there, just stored position. Loaded next Sat (D1) moved WEST a bee's dick and whamo! etc etc etc.

On my Strong using USALS, I set my position as xx.xE and yy.yN. This then allows correct tracking of the satellites.

Easy enough to manually move the dish via remote and store as position 1,2,3 etc then once memorized you select the channel and the motor goes to the position stored as explained by Fernbay.

Seems like the easiest way to do it on a DM500s.
