    Default Sky NZ and all dreambox users

    Before I give up ( for a short period of time ) there are many users here that can get a sky card to work in a DM box so my questions are

    What softcam /What version ?

    What card ver 17 / 45

    any additions to the cam config file ?

    External ( jaycar etc ) or internal

    Boxkey required ?

    With regard to boxkey a member did give me some help and that it can be found in your skybox menu but the only useful number I got was the actual STB serial number ( last 9 digits but the last digit on label was A last digit in info on STB was 4 ) converted to hex still no joy CCcam

    I am sure there are some here with both cards 17 / 45 working

    I bet you're using CCcam. I hear Oscam and a funny number under your receiver is your solution

    process for NDS boxkey conversion.. this is a theoretical stb number for demonstrating the process only... Your stb will have its own unique number tied into your card.

    take the last 10 digits of the sky STB ID number on the sticker on the rear or underneath... example ID NO. 80965423152671A = 423152671A

    then....

    take the first 9 digits... example 423152671A= 423152671....

    goto start/programs/accessories/calculator... view... scientific mode.

    type in the number above then click on the HEX radio button.. it will return the hex value... 1938CC1F

    this is the BOXKEY for the stb number above...

    if there are zero's at the start of the final number you need to put into the calculator then forget them and add what numbers you can... THEN ADD a zero (OR two, if there were two) to the start of the hex value.

    ie.. 35212012345678A = 012345678 = BC 61 4E PLUS THE ZERO('s) YOU COULDNT PUT INTO THE CALCULATOR = 00 BC 61 4E

    IT HAS TO HAVE 8 FIGURES IN THE RETURNED KEY.. IF NOT ADD THE ZERO'S AT THE START.

    Hope this helps get people back online.. keep this post updated please

    to be more exact im using oscam build #4158 and cccam 2.1.4 as client with emm-g blocked.

    oscam.conf
    Code:
    [global]
    logfile                       = /dev/null
    disablelog                    = 1

    fallbacktimeout               = 1500
    bindwait                      = 30
    nice                          = 0
    preferlocalcards              = 1
    saveinithistory               = 1
    readerrestartseconds          = 30
    lb_mode                       = 3
    lb_save                       = 300

    [newcamd]
    port                          = 15000@096A:000000
    key                           = 0102030405060708091011121314
    allowed                       =
    keepalive                     = 1
    mgclient                      = 0
    oscam.server
    Code:
    [reader]
    label                         = sky
    enable                        = 1
    protocol                      = internal
    device                        = /dev/sci0

    caid                          = 096A
    detect                        = cd
    mhz                           = 368
    cardmhz                       = 368
    ident                         = 096A:000000
    group                         = 1
    emmcache                      = 1,1,2
    blockemm-g                    = 1
    lb_weight                     = 100
    oscam.user
    Code:
    [account]
    user                          = dummy
    pwd                           = dummy
    group                         = 1
    monlevel                      = 4
    au                            = 1
    theres no need to insert boxkey, oscam gets this automatically from card.
    needless to say cccam also needs n line to oscam

    working on vu+duo.

    Default Card stopped working on 10 May 2011

    I'm using DM500S, Enigma, CCcam 2.0.10.

    I tried a different image PliJade, CCcam 2.2.1 and also entered the boxkey as suggested by others, but still did not work. Although I'm not 100% sure with the STB serial number because mine has 7 Alpha + 9 numeric digits only, unlike others who said they have 10 or 11 digits.

    Perhaps someone in this forum can confirm if entering the boxkey really works. I haven't tried gareth41's suggestion of using OSCAM yet because I noticed his setup if vu+duo and not Dreambox. I know for sure the card still works with other boxes as I've tried it with Openbox, but somehow it seems like it only stopped working for Dreamboxes.

    It's not the image it's the emu. Also DM's and Vu"s run a similar platform and use the same emu's.

    thanks leroy. information noted. in that case, if no one can confirm that the boxkey method will work, i'll try OSCAM instead when i get home. i'll post my results later if it works.

    The Boxkey method did not work, so I installed Oscam and updated the config files as suggested by gareth, but still no joy. The config files I updated are oscam.conf, oscam.server, oscam_user and were saved in /var/tuxbox/config.

    One thing I noticed, however when I installed CCcam_2.2.1/OSCam 1.0 using (e1-cccam_2.2.1_101122.tar.gz) it did not create an OSCAM executable file in /var/bin. Where did it put the OSCAM executable??? Because I can't find the oscam exe I did a search for an OSCAM.EXE and downloaded one from the net. FTP the file to /var/bin and then renamed it to "oscam_1.00" then chmod 755. I used "oscam_1.00" because it is the name of the exe in the script file CCcam_2.2.1_oscam_1.00_cam.sh in /var/scripts. To be exact, the oscam exe is a .99 version and not 1.00. Not sure if that makes a difference.

    I'm using DM500S, Gemini 4.2. Is there anything I missed?

    Is there anyone whose card stopped working last 10 May able to make the card work again? Will appreciate if you could share what steps you did.

    You cant use a exe file on linux, it just wont work. I guess i'll have to create another dm500 image with everything in it, so all you have to do is shove card in slot.

    Are you able to help with a DM800 image or point me in the right direction please? I need either Jade2 20090504 or Gemini2 4.2 as I use the box with DVBLink. What version of Oscam would I use on these images and what are the config settings? Cheers

    use the latest stable pli image. download and install oscam from the plugins menu aswell as CCcam. download my config files from below and copy them to /var/tuxbox/config on your DM800. You will also need to configure an N line in CCcam.cfg to the obvious.

    Go into the webinterface on port 8000 admin/admin and see if it recognises the card in log. If you have problems with the oscam binary downloaded from pli plugins menu, then try overwriting it in /usr/bin with my oscam version, also included with the download below.

    Default No picture in DM500 using OSCAM

    I installed Oscam onto DM500S. Here's the log when I run OSCAM using telnet. (Serial and Box ID replaced with XXXXX). It looks like the card is being read correctly, but why still no picture onscreen?

    Will try Gareth's image next. Hope that one works.
