    Default LCD screens

    Hi all

just a bit of advice sort, i picked up a couple of lcd screens from agarage sale for a few bucks each.
I knew they weren't working, I bought with the idea of maybe having a go at repairing myself....would it worth it to have a go at this or should I just ditch them and use em as door stops, I'm presuming its a power supply problem on the two, has anyone played with any screens, your thoughts are appreciated.

    both are 17" monitors

it may not be worth the effort, but if you can give any ifon it would be appreciated.

Part of my job is repairing LCDs. A good place to start would be to test the PSU, Inverter, Flex-cable and the LCD screen. There isn't much more to them than that anyway!

Of course, like a good son, you ended up giving it back to your mum and told her it was just a clogged on/off switch?

Change all of the ~1000uF caps on the power supply board (they'll be the biggest ones). Usually 4 or so.

    Cheers!
