    Default 2 Dreams 1 dish = Headache

Just looking for some advice as to where I went wrong with this setup.

I can't be bothered running another cable and changing over to a dual/twin lnb. So I have 2 dreams d500s that I have deleted all the vertical channels (none of them I have acces to anyways) off both of them. Connected the 2 recievers back to a spaun multiswitch. Then the lnb is connected to the H of the multiswitch.

Now if a leave the satellite setup as default ie 22khz H/V voltage H/V on both receivers I get bad signal breakup looking at the satfinder menu the strength quality and ber fluctuate widley and the signal goes in and out of lock.

If I change 1 of the boxes to 22khz off then everything is fine perfect signal perfect quality no ber on both boxes. But if you then turn that box off the other 1 dies and gets no service. So Am I missing something or is there something wrong.

    Cheers

If it is just H your after, take the spaun out of the equation & just loop the dish

    Dish > box1 in > box1 out > box2 in

Due to the boxes being in different rooms I am unable to do that.

Use a 2 way sat splitter in place of the multiswitch then

So is it the uni lnb and the 22khz out that the boxes are sending that is the problem?? Or the multiswitch doesn't like the 22khz?? If so I guess I could change the uni lnb out for the twin 1 I have which should then eliminate the need for the 22khz?? Don't have a splitter on hand only place open today is bunnings don't like my chances there.

Been playing this morning and everything is fine so long as only 1 box is outputting the 22khz.

I have the LNB here so I might do that today and see what happens.

If your multiswitch has two in (H/V) and your just running the two out, you should also be able to do it with just two Ftype barrel joiners

My multiswitch does have 2 in h/v but I only have the one uni lnb connected to the H and then the 2 decoders connected to the switch.

I read somewhere on this site that universal lnb & multiswitch are a no good together, try a 10700 lnb or 11300 lnb with multiswitch
