    5600 boot" Any suggestions there ...have try many images but still the same

    At risk of stating the obvious, here are a couple of suggestions.

    Check the sticker underneath your receiver (it probably says DM5620) and ensure you only install images for that exact model.

    Disconnect all cables except RS232 (and power lead).

    You need to be using a null modem cable - a serial extension lead plus gender changer will not work.

    Try an early version of DreamUp (I used DreamUp 1.1 with my DM5620).

    Update only using serial, not ethernet. ie turn off the network option.

    If trouble persists there's a fair chance it's a power supply problem.

    I wouldnt even bother hooking it up to a pc until you get the psu repaired. GW1's post is a good idea, but I can almost guarantee that the psu needs work first.
    What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?
