    Default How to download official Navcore from Tomtom after failed update

    I was asked several times how get a working Navcore back from Tomtom after an update to a higher version failed.
    Situation something like this :
    You tried to use a downloaded Navcore that was not intended by Tomtom to be used on your device - like the new 8.413 Navcore.
    Or you wanted the latest Navcore for your ONE ,300 ,500 or whatever and noticed it is not working ...
    To make thing worse you don't have a backup.

    If you really want the latest official Navcore as an original from Tomtom even if Home won't let you - there is a way :

    1. You need a ttgo.bif - fond in the root of your device or SD card.

    2. Have a look and check for the latest official Navcore for your device.

    3. Keep in mind the second last version number for your device - or write it down

    4. Open the "ttgo.bif" on your device and check these two lines :
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8413
    ApplicationVersion=1237
    There wil be other numbers in your file...
    Anyway replace the number after ApplicationVersionVersionNumber (in my example the 8413) with the second last official Navcore version number - you still have it in mind ? Good that you wrote it down...
    Replace the number after the ApplicationVersion with 0000 - as it is not important ,but you need a four digit number there.

    5. Connect your device with TT Home and start the updte procedure - follow the prompts.

    6. Now you're back to original , but might need to add (Computer)-voices or other stuff .

    7. If you were using a non genuine map you need to activate it with a keygen and patch the ttsystem - you can use this to do so.

    Ok this may be a really dumb question but I am totally new to this. How exactly do I "Open the "ttgo.bif" on your device"??? I haven't a clue how to do that, I'm sure I sound like an idiot but oh well.
    I've really got no idea what I'm doing here, but I've been given a Tomtom GO730 with Navcore 8.413 installed on it and I just want to get the official version (8.351) on there instead!
    Thanks so much...

    Have you tried a text editor?
    Something like Notepad or Wordpad?

    that worked, thanks. was having a blonde moment and didnt realise you needed to have TT Home closed when you made the changes to the ttgo.bif file in notepad, then open it once you were done.
    only problem though NOW is that when I go to turn the TT on with navcore v8.351 it,s saying my map isn't supported or something? Comes up with a big red error screen sayin "You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-70". The specs on the TT and TT Home said it was Australia 8.35.2419?
    Actually, it always said that when I tried to operate the TT on my computer via TT Home, now it's coming up on my TT as well and makes it a totally unusable device! I made a backup luckily so I can always go back, I just prefer Navcore 8.351 to 8.413 if I can make it work!
    Any ideas? Sorry if I'm just being thick and missing something....

    If you use a Navcore from TT (original) you have to patch it - use Keygen3.1G for that ,"patch system".
    If your map was already activated it will work ,otherwise activate the map with the Keygen as well , "Make map keys"
