    Default PVR Recorder with HDD

I am looking at buying a PVR recording unit with inbuilt HDD and would appreciate feedback from members here.

Key features in order of importance:
    1. Video and audio input and record to a HDD.
    2. The recordings on the HDD if removed and connected to a PC needs to be readable so I can backup or burn as I need to.
    3. Easy to use timer to preset on and off record times
    4. Terrestial Digital TV tuner SD with EPG / channel info
    5. Terrestial Digital TV tuner HD with EPG / channel info
    6. Whatever other bells and whistles that might automatically come with 1, 2, and 3

    Absolute minimum is 1, 2, and 3.

As I am also working on a budget I do not wish to spend big bucks (otherwise I would have walked in to Harvey Norman and just bought something off the shelf).

I know Strathfield was pushing a box last year which cost about $80 and could take a HDD.

No doubt I am sure there will be somebody here who has one of these or has good advice.

    Thanks in advance

why not buy yourself a couple of HD tuner cards for your PC. I have a winfast DTV1000T, it has 1,2,3,4,5 & 6. I can schedule recordings. The files are on the HDD of the PC already.

    Good luck

The strathfield $69 DVX555U is not a bad little unit but only SD, you cant easily transfer to pc and this requires removing the hdd and using a specific program to read the hdd. PC dtv card would be the cheapest option.
