Godzilla (15-10-09)
Hi after,
I did a scan of D3 earlier this arvo and found that Aljazeera scanned in by itself, as we know Aljazeera won't scan in on C1 as the pids are hidden, we have edit a TP or be using a blind scanner, however as I say, I was able to scan this in by itself, and I'm not using a blind scanner or didn't need to edit the TP!
Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks for the info Osci as the topfield 3200IR I am using will not allow me to input pids so this is great.
Cheers Marty

yep just scanned it in with my DM500s no pids needed to be entered
G'Day Cobbers,
You're all dreaming, there are no TPs above 12200 MHz that beam into Australia.
I've seen no reports from NZ as to what they are getting above 12200 on D3.
That is where those D3 signals go.
You'll find the original posting here.
I'll say it again, there is no AlJazeera on D3 ATM.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

Al Jazeera Network announced that its English language global news service has launched on the Austar pay TV platform in Australia.
Al Jazeera English will join 40+ other channels available in the Austar Starter Package which has a subscriber base currently of 750,000 throughout regional Australia.
Don't let the number of posts fool you :-)

G'Day Cobbers,
On the Strong boxes, you can limit the Scan range only in Blind Scan.
The default is 10700 to 12750.
To save confusion with C1 you should limit this to 11700 to 12200.
To do this in Blind Scan, highlight the 10700 and change to 11700, then down arrow to 12750 and change to 12200, exit and then to OK to scan.
You need to do this every time you scan D3 or you get the C1 TPs as well.

I just did a full scan of C1 and got it on a DM500s with no manual pid input.
It just works.
Edit; just tried to scan D3, heaps of extra channels now compared to my last scan but no Aljazeer on the list so im pretty sure its coming from C1.
Looks like the pid's are just coming through now so no more need for manual input.

1 x VU+ Duo HD Twin Tuner PVR, 2 X AZbox HD, 2 X Opticum 9500 HD, Unotelly DNS & VPN, 2 X Roku Media players, 3 X WD-TV Media Players, and some shitty Vast STB's
4.5 MByte????
The video stream is 3.3 Mbps average.
It was expected that Al Jazeera would finally be added to the NIT as well as have a Foxtel provider tag as well as have NDS & Irdeto EMM's attached once Austar confirmed that they would add it. The channel can't have hidden details if provider boxes are to scan it in.
It's a shame though that with the full D1 resolution of 720x576i that it's still flagged in 4:3 ratio with an encoded 14:9 frame inside the 4:3 broadcast.
With the native 16:9 source, reasonable bitrate and full resolution it could easily be shown in native 16:9 at good quality.
Just scanned Al Jazeera with my humax IR-ACE.
Many thanx.
Just did a scan on that transponder and it does come up without entering pids. Am using openbox x810
