Ok dont worry, got it going, was the navcore, I did it wrong the 1st time round, seems to work now with the new maps yay
One last question though, what do I need to change in the default switch files and where do they go after ?
Cheers.
Ok after a few hours I give up grrr
Have a Tomtom One and can not get the new v8.35.2419.Retail maps to work no matter what I do..
Have tried everything to make sure the maps are patched, so I dont think thats the prob, but it still wont even see the map ? just says no maps.
Not sure what version One it is, it has 1gig int memory and no card slot..
App 8.010 OS 190943
32 MB RAM
GPS v1.21 Boot 5.5128
Im a bit lost with all this stuff about bootloaders and navcores etc..
I tried the put the 8.412 navcore on it (think it was the right one), cleared the memory, unrared the files onto it and it wont boot, have to hold the power button down to reset so I could put the old files back on.
Ive read through all the guides, but none of them actually say what navcore or bootloader I actually need, if any ?
ttsystem is already patched or at least thats what KG31 says (needs an un patched file), have used easyusetools and KG_v3.1F all go through fine, but the map still wont get detected.
Maps on it now are v720 1868, so really need to update this thing
Any ideas what im doing wrong ?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers.

Search the forum for "switchfiles for dummies"
Tomtom GO730 ,Navcore 9.004 ,Bootloader 5.5256 ,Map :Australia 845.2661ttmaps and Tomplayer on 16GB SDHC class6Password for all my files: downunder
Who you calling a dummy !?!?!
Thanks for that.
Found it and it explains everything, great post ! can you tell from my description though what version of Tomtom One I have ? as there as some model specific options.
Cheers.
Not really - the ONE models are bit confusing for me anyway
But it should not be problem because the main differences are the memory and the screen size.
So as long as you don't have XL you can use the settings for the normal ONE
