    Default dm600s blindscan

    i have been scratching my head over this for a while....

    can someone once and for all definitively explain exactly how to get this working in a DM600s running PLi Jade?

    all my googling has helped me do nothing other than destroy my satellites.xml file.

    Is the satellite you are trying to blind scan in your satellite.xml file.
    Can you select the satellite you want to blind scan from the confiure satellite menu.

    If you can see it there can you get a lock on the signal

    the satellites i want are in my satellites.xml file i can do a multisat/auto transponder scan fine.
    i can select the satellite in the blindscan plugin... however when i go to start scan i get:

    i am aware that the plugin is poorly written however i thought it would at least give some results... not some crappy vague error message

    hey casey - ease up mate
    pli forum and austech forum are very helpful
    - but first you have to help yourself by searching
    - just because you cant crack it - dont mean it dont work
    patience, perserverence and might I say manners go along way in here

    blindscan does work on my dm600 with these settings
    Note : I have a 10700 lnb

    1. Lof/L 10000
    2. Lof/H 10700
    3. Threshold 11800

    the error you got is in fact exactly right - you have no transponder in your sat file on the lof/h setting so ..

    Then in my satellites.xml against the sat I am scanning I added entries to put transponders like this
    <transponder frequency="10000000" symbol_rate="27800000" polarization="1" fec_inner="0" system="0" modulation="1"/>
    <transponder frequency="10000000" symbol_rate="27800000" polarization="0" fec_inner="0" system="0" modulation="1"/>

    or try 10600000 instead of the 10000000

    if it still dont work - there are some tuners that support the code and others that dont - you might have one of the "don'ts"

    managed to edit the file without screwing it up but still no luck. guess my clone doesn't have an alps tuner in it.

    does anyone know how to identify the tuner without lifting the cover?
    i tried a few linux commands but i can't find anything

    I use notepad++ to edit any file from dreambox
    it retains unix format for those that need it

    type in this code at telnet will give you a tuner type

    grep nim /proc/bus/dreambox
    mine responds
    nim=Alps -S(STV0288)
    nimtype=DVB-S

    did you make the lnb setting changes in satellite setup as well as changinng satellites.xml ??
