    Default scam client

I wanted to set up a scam client to connect to cccam server with a blue card.
Can anyone confirm this works, and if so what config files and info is required?

Looked in the config in the other thread and tried it, but it has cccam, newcamd but no mention of newcs.

Can i ask why use newcamd as client.
I use mgcammed to keep trafic and hits to a minimum.
Whats the advantage to newcamd as i found highest trafic is Evocamd, Minimum is Mgcamed and mixed results from various versions of cccamed?
So obviously newcamed has an advantage that ive missed.
    What is it?

Ok I have tried config file in scam folder but still not working.

    ### newcamd connect
    /net/newcamd/foo/host=192.168.0.**
    /net/newcamd/foo/port=34000
    /net/newcamd/foo/user=internal
    /net/newcamd/foo/pass=password
    /net/newcamd/foo/key=0102030405060708091011121314

    What am I missing?

I have cccam and mgcamd working so newcs must be right.

    Not sure about newcamd.
But I can tell you I am missing some channels from stuffing around with cccam, they have not come back using mgcamd or cccam.

I am trying to get them back with a softcam instead of putting card back in provider box.

are you sure your missing channels from the cam ..
missing channels lately has been mostly linked to transponders moving from C1 to D3

No its happened once before. I had lost all of them but I put the card back in the provider box for a few hours and most came back, but that tells me that some stuff doesn't get through with cccam or mgcamd or maybe its newcs.
So Id like to see if scam or anything else can bring em back.

I tend to agree with nfnovice. There's been lots of channels being shuffled between TP's/Sats.

And a rescan would fix that.

After reading this thread yesterday I loaded up scam 3.52 client on my 7020 accessing my cccam server 2.0.10.
Did the config , (thanks jonc) pics came straight up - (noted it shows as a 2.0.11 client)
it did pixellate every 10 secs or so, I restarted scam and it went with no pix for 5 minutes or so
I restarted scam and pix was back every 10 secs

so verdict .. yes scam can connect to cccam server but cccam to cccam server worked better.
next time I play will make my server newcs see the results..
    YMMV
    cheers

I meant to say scam with newcs not cccam.

I left card in provider box over night and all chns came back.
    No rescan required..

Would like to find a softcam that can bring all the chns back as
    Mgcamd and cccam can't.

Its not really an issue, but something these softcams can't do.

Evocamd will bring back those channels, but you cant watch it.
You run evocamd 1.27b for about 2 hours, during this time as a client it will pixelate and freeze restarting itself each time but send all nessacery info to the card. It will even bring up a dead card like the provider box but is unwatchable while it works.Good for when your away from your server and cant get the card into that provider box.
