why dont you disable them from the clients and only have the server accept emm ?
F: user pass 0 0 0
then the power is back with you ....
Hello all,
A little background on my issue. My dm600 server was running very smoothly with cccam 2.0.9 for many months until three or four weeks ago. At that point, the clients started getting often freezes that were lasting for a long time. That problem went very big and so I started investigating in forums.
I read that other users of the same provider had the same problem. One said that the problem was caused because the provider started sending too many EMM messages which caused a lot of cpu consumption. He suggested some changes on the cccam configurations, I tried the changes, and taadaaa, the problem was solved.
So, what I did was to update to cccam 2.1.3 and add the following lines in my configuration.
From what I understand, what I have done is:Code:SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/sci0 0 { LIST OF CHANNEL SIDS WENT HERE } SHOW EXTENEDED CLIENT INFO : yes WEBINFO USERNAME : **** WEBINFO PASSWORD : **** WEBINFO LISTEN PORT : 16001 ZAP OSD TIME : 0 SHOW TIMING : no MINI OSD : no DEBUG : no DISABLE EMM : yes EXTRA EMM LEVEL : yes EMM THREADS : 1
1. Disable the EMM updates from the provider
2. However, I receive EMM updates from the clients, since their lines are F: user pass 0 0 1 {0:0:1}
3. I assigned SIDs so that the server knows what it serves. I have done some research on that and I know that this is something that really helps and everyone is supposed to do it.
So now, I have some questions because I have not really understood what an EMM is and how my current config can affect the card.
1. What are the EMM messages and why is the provider sending them?
2. Was it ok to disable their updates and only receive them from my client?
3. Will I get all necessary updates from my clients, or the EMM that will send me depend on the channel they are tuned in?
4. What will happen if I stop being connected to my clients for xyz reasons? Is there any chance my card will stop working?
Thank you in advance. Your help is very much appreciated.

I run a seperate dm500 as a stand alone server (no coax connection to dish), and accept EMM's from just one client. this keeps the system happy.
just let one client do the EMM's and get the other clients to use mgcamd instead
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it

mgcamd clients to cccam server ? thats not right is it ?
I have clients use cccam 1.71 or cccam 2.0.0 has the same affect..
see part of cccam info below
for dedicated server(like porkop recommends)

Thx everyone for your help.
If I only let one client send me the EMMs, won't I have a problem if this client disconnects?
I think that I will better understand how this thing needs to be configured when I understand how EMMs work. Are they provider-specific, or channel-specific? What will happen if I don't receive them?
mate if you dont have a client that you have control of then let your server update the emms and diable the clients emms.
