    Default New fo*tel card

Yesterday, i received information from a very reliable source that FO*TEL will be introducing a new card with in a 6 months timeframe. It is unclear what type of card it is, however, i was told that it CANNOT be shared.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    More to come...

It would be no surprise that Foxtel would take such measures and in fact, I find it surprising it's taken them this long.

Providers have to change their cards every 5 years for contractual reasons.

FO*TEL will probably realease the new K-Type NDS Card which cannot be shared with available emus.

The same card has been shared with a modified NEWCS 1.2 version, however the NEWCS Team ar no longer working on this and havent made the source code available.

Could it be the end to cardsharing?

Could the new card also not be able to be used in a non provider decoder.?
    Lets hope not.
But if so there shall be no more pay tv for this little brown duck.

I wonder if they will ever realise that people do drop their subs because they cant use their card in receivers they want to use and they will also drop it if they cant share it around their LAN to other TV's.

The card will only work in provider boxes. Im not sure wether FO*TEL have or are in the process of upgrading their boxes software. From what i am expecting is that the new algorithm will send something extra to the NDS card, allowing the card to detect wether it is in a geniune receiver or not.
The problem will be that this new algorithm would have to be implemented in NEWCS.

I think they are (performed a software upgrade that is) - a mate just told me his menu is now completely different, happened overnight - i have asked him to bring his card card so we could have a play and see.

    cheers

newcs source code is available for 1.20 thats why its been done but not by the the newcs team but by an individual that adapted it to work for azboxes
and the next question is yes it has been now done for dreamboxes

what is happening is that the LEN for every channel (transponder) has changed for which the nano (algorithm) is not known. Find the nano and problem solved. ECM has stayed the same but the resulting CW is different since the 'good' nano is not known.
this new unknown nano algo with 16 bit sends something extra to the card and the card dosen't answer correctly when it is in a non genuine box, but it does when it is in the genuine sky boxes.this nano can easily be dumped from the old goldbox after sky sent it the software upgrade so it can work uninterupted with this counter measure

the above has been lifted from another forum
    plenty of tutes about

    Sorry marty,
not being critical or anything, but to explain. When double negative is used, it means the opposite to what it appears. However you seem to have mastered the art of triple negative. Well done.
