    Post DAS NetworX Series NX4

I have had to replace a failed backup battery and now the service led is indicating that the time/date needs to be set.
Unfortunately as I only have the user code, I have no access to program this option.

Further research on this matter confirms that the default master/installer codes have been changed, so no go when trying them.
I do have the installation and user manual for this unit but the resetting option is only available if you have the master code.

Certain posts floating around the net suggests that this unit requires a flash chip? to reset back to factory settings but during my conversation with DAS suppliers in Coburg, they are indicating that this unit indeed can be reset at the board and no such chip is required.

I was hoping someone could assist with the reset procedure for this alarm system.
    Thanks

Yes you can defualt the panel without a chip, however this will default the whole panel, so not just the user codes, all the zone types and any control room numbers if monitored ect.

It is very easy to default, however it should be programmed by an installer.

Sorry to re-awaken an old thread.

Is the procedure to default the panel still available?
Its an NX-4 that was removed from service when a customer upgraded to another panel. The codes (master, installer, download access) are no longer available. We just want to restore the factory defaults.

    Thank you for your help.

Surely NationalAlarms with a username like that you would know how to default an NX panel?

The NX-4v2 installation manual, NX4V2IB05 rev. B, page 9 discusses data types and feature data.

It has been many years since I studied a NetworX manual, but when I did I was unable to find a procedure to default the panel WITHOUT using the programming code. Technical support has always told me to send it in if I must have it defaulted without the code.

Apparently I misunderstood the above post:

...led me to believe someone had a procedure that did NOT require any codes.

No points for anybody, since they didnt actually read my post.

ANY NX installer manual will tell you. The programming for all panels is the same.

We dont seem to be looking at the same manual.

Section IX (9) "Loading Factory Defaults" is on page 11 in my manual, refers me to the procedure to enter programming mode on page 8 (which requires the valid code that I dont have), then back to page 11 which describes the command to default the panel.

Another observation about the manual: my "Loading Factory Defaults" section is only 2 sentences long. No, pardon me, its 3. Its 2 lines long.

So! Is there something we can do so that we are looking at the same manual? Mine is the NetworX Series, NX-4V2 Control Panel, Installation and Startup. Part number NX4V2IB05, Rev.B.

Whats yours? (and how can we work a trade?)

I thought it has to be done within 10 seconds.... not 60 seconds. I'll look it up when i have some spare time later.

use this link and navigate your way to the nx install manual and look on page 9. It says 10 seconds with no mention of 60 seconds.

I might have been outside the 10 second window by just enough. Will try again when I get it set up again on my workbench.

Thnx for the link. The part numbers appear to match what we have in the USA, even the logo/artwork on the enclosures are the same. But the manuals seem to be a little different. We shall see!

The feature locations are drastically different from the USA models! For instance: In USA Feature 0 is the 1st (of 3) phone number to report to. The programming code is NOT location 1, but somewhere in the 40's or 90's (I forget where, I usually program these things through a laptop with the 586 module).

So, due to the differences, the power-up feature probably wont work in a USA model. Our dealer rep, our factory technical support, and anybody else that I talk to around here says it cannot be done. When I read about the procedure in this forum, I started to have a glimmer of hope. But, it appears that the light at the end of the tunnel was actually the on-coming train! Thanks for your patience with me.

The power up default won't work with the CADDX range. You need to grab the NX-Unlock software. They may be a bit more strict in the US with the default procedure.

The firmware in the NX family is the same here as it is in the states.

From what I am reading and the CADDX manuals I have looked at, they don't support the power up default.

That's interesting because I have two panels from the US. Both work. (f/w 1.02)
Clearly there must've been a change somewhere along the line. Have you tried this yourself?

I haven't personally, I may be wrong but from what some are saying in the US, it looks like it may be a disabled feature.
