Keep an eye out for GO! on 12052 V 27800 3/4 VPID 1101 APID 1102
At the moment it has Channel ID of SPARE and has a test card with the annoying tone.
It took me a while to find out what EPG is being displayed for this test card and it's same as for GO! on NEIN's/WIN's Terrestrial EPG.

Nine have announced that Go! will be on satellite "in the new year" but no other details besides that.
Good work!

Yes thanks for the info.
if there was one channel that should be free to air on satellite its GO
Its a generic program stream with no news or anything that localizes it to any area
should be part of aurora and unencrypted!
Including Go on the Aurora platform is like putting a Ferari on the grid with a team of Volkswagons. Aurora is unwatchable crap (except if you have a 14" crt TV) - does'nt even broadcast in widescreen and has no plans to upgrade.
will be mel/syd/bris only
Isn't GO just like 111 hits anyway?

It now has an epg but still no pics!

I lived in remote NT for years and appreciated Friday night footy on SCTV, but once you've seen a widescreen HD version of same, you realise what a cheapie Aurora is. What really concerns me is that if people just accept it as is, Optus and the Remote Area Broadcasters will continue to shovel this outmoded broadcast signal down our throats. Even more galling is arguments from some of the Aurora apologists on this forum along the lines of 'oh well you live in a remote area - you should be grateful for what you get'.
Aurora fails one of the key criteria for a digital broadcast signal - in that it is not broadcast in widescreen. HD is not such a big ask also, given MPEG 4 compression technology. People in the bush should get onto their local member to have this situation addressed. Extra services such as Go and One HD would be nice, but Aurora needs to ditch the horse and cart technology first.
I know what you mean.. it does irk me a bit to see some people in say regional Vic whinging they they have issues with Prime HD, when people in country WA do not even have digital tv terrestrially!
The cities had it in 2000 but here they still don't have it 10 years later.

It seems we may be having a Federal Election next year and if so, now is the time for regional OZ to start lobbying BOTH PARTIES.
Sen. Steven 'GOD' Conroy has been blathering about this and that and doing nothing.
Now is the time to tell the Senator that while he may not be up for Election (yet), if Labor are chucked out, he aint gunna be no Minister NO More and bang goes all his benefits from it.
As both bambbam and pc9 rightly point out, anyone over the invisible line that seperates Metropolitan from Regional is getting utter crap in all services.
I may be all wind and no substance but there has to be something done to 'Level the Playing Field' for all of us.
I can go on about this stuff ad nauseum but the tragedy of the current sitution is that in places like remote NT and Qld, Au...ar is starting to rip the guts out of the FTA TV market. I know that on a national scale, these stats are very minor, however most of the punters will willingly fork out their $100 plus per month on a product which is in most cases only marginally better than Aurora, but nevertheless transmits in widescreen and has some HD.
The Federal Government recently ploughed $6m into a new digital broadcast facility in Alice Springs to assist in production of programs for Caama, Imparja's main production house. Symbolic gestures of this kind (to a reputedly Indigenous broadcaster) make absolutely no sense when the main satellite broadcast platform used by Imparja is in such a dire need of upgrade.
I think it is more important for Austar to be providing FTA services to their customers (on Satellite), than it is for Foxtel to provide FTA services (on Satellite) to their customers, because the Foxtel customers usually have access to Terrestrial FTA channels, & Austar customers may not have access to Terrestrial FTA channels.
