Official Opt Aurora card works - goldie with same deets doesn't?

Hi All,

Good to see this site is still thriving...its been a while for me and recently dusted off the jaycar for a play. Anyhow i have an official opt aurora ird1 v1.6 card which is working fine in my Strong box, however i have had issues with my goldies v1.2 (3x) just not wanting to load up pics even tho they have all got the same deets as official card. I trolled thru the posts around this subject just in case there's been a fairly substantial change that i may of missed and just to see whats been going on. On the newest of the golds i have basically gone back to the start, reloaded ghostgold, eeprom etc and then loaded offic card deets(dumped hmk & pmk with Fmcard) no luck. Left all 3 in the box for over an hour each, no pics, channel flicking just gives me the scrambled channel message. Really just wanted to catch some of the cricket live (Perth) looks like we may have a game on our hands, and possibly a reasonable summer of cricket. Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated....i'll keep tinkering in the meantime.

i would be looking for the help of a friendly logger for a emk update i have had the same problem of late with a Friends card sat in box for 5 days nothing got a emk from a friendly logger and pics straight away

Gold cards are not as fast or long lasting as a Silver Card or Emerald or Fun Card,

You could try to program up a Silver Card,

Also try to use GGedit or LMedit to read the details from your original Card, & to write them to your Gold or Silver Card, it is much easier,

you only really need to successfully write the HSN & HMK to the gold card then put it into the STB & wait up to 1 hour for an update,

Cheers Puca & Osirus for the replies - i use FMcard to read sub card details i.e. HSN, HMK etc and LMedit to write details of sub card to goldy, like i said they are exact in every detail. The only thing i can think of is what you have mentioned puca re the EMK, which i calc'd using dumped PMK and HMK in Fmcard, thats not to say it's correct. I do realise you only need HSN and HMK to get these up and running, i'm pretty sure i read Al Bundy and many others quoting this numerous times. Maybe i'll go reverse engineering style and take everything off the card bar those 2 essentials and see what happens, failing that is there a friendly logger out there that would be willing to log my EMK. The missus is away for a few days so good opportunity to spend some time on it without being hassled lol

EMK for Irdeto1 or Irdeto2 ?

If you are making an Irdeto1 Aurora Card,

just write all the details you have to the card, Goldie Silver Emerald etc..., (minimum HSN & HMK)

Then put your card in the STB & it should update the PMK within 1 hour, & get pics, no EMK needed, ( if you have done everything correctly, & your STB will decode an Irdeto1 card)

After finding one of my old silvers with those certain details. I was very surprised to find it still worked after a few minutes in the old Humax.

sat_info are you trying to go cardless ?

Hey, just a newbie question but is your aurora card official? as in is it still in subscription or was it once used as a smart card but then you cancelled your subscription but you still have the card?

or is it copied from another card or did you create it?
