PLi is the way to go.
I'm flashing a Dm500 for a mate here with Flashwizard at the moment.
I couldn't find my serial cable quick enough so decided to flash via network. Big mistake I think. It's at 84% writing and verifying Cramfs memory partition. Started this process at about 2 pm yesterday and it is still going now!
It's not frozen as I can see the counter on Flashwizard slowly counting upwards.
    Has anyone experienced this before?
I'm reluctant to break to operation for fear of bricking the box.

Ah did you have DHCP enabled in the DM500 - yes of course you did and that is the problem, to use flashwizard with a .fw2 or a .img file you need to make sure the DM500 (or whatever box) has a fixed IP before you start flashing it. If you want the why and wherefores I am happy to give them .. i.e when fw sends a killall enigma to the DM box, the DM boxes dhcp client asks for new dhcp lease gets it and never responds to the fixed IP you put in FW as that has now changed etc etc

You're right jonc, I did have DHCP enabled on this box.
Learned something new again, now all I have to do is remember it (that's the hard bit with getting older)
Although I'll probably never flash over network again and make sure I put my cable where I can find it
    Thanks for the tip mate.
I've never seen that mentioned in any flash wizard tut either (unless it's my memory again)

Not sure about orange card as I do not have one. Setanta working fine on blue cards (2) with Foxtel. If you have more than one blue sub (mine with ftel) don't forget to let Setanta know as you can get it on each sub via dreambox for the cost of one Setanta sub.
