    Default CCcam WAN client freezing

    Hi guys,

I'm having an issue with a WAN client which I can't seem to pin point. I'm sharing using the simple F:, C: method with CCcam 2.1.1 at all ends. I have two clients who have perfect connection, but the other is continually experiencing dropouts and occasional freezing. I've been present at the client end during one of these freezes so I tried restarting CCcam, which did nothing. He said to me "the picture just comes back when it wants to".

Clients C1 signal is fine (Aurora works well using ppua). My server never misses a beat, both signal and emulation. Double checked CCcam config, but hardly anything can go wrong there. Their LAN is good, streams mpeg movies PC-> Dream perfectly. As far as I can tell their internet connection is stable (BigPond ADSL1).

Has anyone experienced these issues before? Could it perhaps be a style of password (as I use very strong passes)?

first, u shouldnt be disussing wan clients in the public forum.
have u tried the box at a different location? have u tried a different bx at the same location?

Are the adsl connection settings set to always on and not on demand? also a faulty f-connector can cause these symptoms.

Only an issue if it was on the same segment.

Oh ok, but how to make a goldie and watching Aurora via ppua is not a problem? I haven't mentioned anything about what my setup is used for.

Heh, can't be that bad if you're willing to help. Thanks!

No, I haven't tried the box in a different location - I will do that when I get a chance. I can definitely rule out signal being the problem, as all Aurora tp signals (V) work well, and other tp's (H) are being picked up beatifully.

Not sure what you mean by ADSL set to "always on" or "on demand"?

Bascially I'm just trying to see if anyone else out there has had similar problems over the WAN before I get out there and tackle it myself. Client is a shift worker and a fair hike away so it'll take time before I can go out there and check it out. I'd like to go prepared!

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I'm just trying to troubleshoot a problem between two Dreams over WAN without going into unnecessary details.

This thread bordered illegal talk the moment the 2nd post was made.
