    Default Mystar HD

I have the Mystar HD box, and I have realized that I do not watch the Mystar channels in HD, however I am watching the free to air ones in HD,

If I stop paying the $5 HD fee, does Austar also stop access to the free to air HD?

Best thing is to Ask Austar what would happen to your FTA HD Local channels,

One more thing I forgot to ask, Austar related,

I have the Mystar plugged into my TV through HDMI, and when the TV is turned on, it seems to take a few seconds for the HDMI to sync, compared tp the Xbox it appears as if something in the TV might be busted.

I am in the middle of an insurance claim now (Toll Transistions) and the repairman just seems to say that HDMI can take sometime to sync, however before the move, I would turn the TV on and it would be on, no flickring etc, just a nice picture HD of course.

mine takes a bit longer to sync than using a component device for example.

My HDMI takes a while to Sync - I suspect its got something to do with the version that the two devices accept, ie 1.2 v 1.3. Noticed that when I relay through the AV amp it takes an eternity to sync - again as this method introcudes a third device with HDMI with possibly a different version.

Also have found that good quality component offers a slightly better quality picture than HDMI. Am watching a 58 inch full high def plasma but only 50htz.

By the way, have found that the HD services show a lot of SD content particularly movies - think that this is misleading advertising. Must say however that when the genuine HD stuff comes on it is pretty good. The MPEG 4 picutures at 720p or 1081i are streets ahead of the terrestrial HD.

The SD Foxtel/Austar pics are bloody awful - still obviously very compressed to get the max out of transponder space!

You've got to be kidding right? If you can't see the difference I reckon you need glasses. HDMI is a far superior picture even on my 1024 Panasonic panel.

HDMI is much better than composite & ten times better than AV on my Hitachi 50"

Why aren't you watching the HD channels from AUstar?

I find the movies & sport so much better in HD than SD.
