Life is Grotesque atm. I have an LG Lafinion 82W in workshop for repair, and need to get into service mode - anyone know the procedure?

Well life is about to get worse because I believe you need a service remote for this model. For the remote part number and price you will have to ring Statewide on 1800005220.

Gotten worse still, Statewide was unable to supply remote, they say only remote they can supply is standard remote. I wonder if anyone might have an LG part no for this remote and I can try ordering it that way?

is it geometry you are trying to correct?
    did you replace the flashrom?

try menu on remote and menu on the set at the same time hold both, but i dont like your chances.
describe what you have to adjust, if its east west it might be a tuning cap faulty etc rather than a adjustment.

the quote from the manual is:
    Adjustment method:
    1) Enter the adjust mode by pressing the IN-START button

which seems to suggest its going to need the remote

Press OK on RC and OK on TV front panel at the same time, it'll take to service mode.

    OK gents,

Firstly, thanks for all the responses, I must take my hat off to iwacelect yet again (thanks Ian) we had been trying OK/OK but it was Menu/Menu that got us into service mode.
The original fault with this unit was no S or P and upon inspection we found LOPT not happy so replaced as well as neck PCB (This type of LG are renowned for CRT socket problems when replacing flyback and it's cheaper to replace whole neck pcb than just the socket)
After power up we get picture but no E/W correction, now we can enter service mode there is no adjustment when altering E/W setting so we must look further afield.
Will keep you posted when cure is found.

Thanks for all assistance and offers, btw the back of the TV is in Geelong.

keep telling you, everytime we went down for product releases or service instruction days we would be the ones giving the bloody lecture, does anyone out there still get 42PX4DV's giving the virgin turn on screen inviting you to tune in channels after you already have? when we first approached them with this prob they tried to tell us we didn't install the unit correctly, turned out it was in thier software and a high value capacitor thats SUPPOSED to stay charged and let the micro know that it had already been turned on and tuned in so not to display the "we will now tune all your channels", we had three of thier engineers here from korea and they couldn't find it, WE DID!!
