which is best ......Hmmm I am sure everyone has a view on that, but to put them simply, Wood heaters are fantastic natural heaters which look the part and give off immediate zone heating, but thermally speaking not very efficient. Gas ducted heaters generally give you the best bang for your buck as they are reasonably efficient (certain brands and models) cover your entire house and heat areas quickly. If you want rolls royce heating Hydronic is king with either wall panels installed or better still infloor tubing under your carpet/tiles/floorboards the heat is very natural, there is no dust unlike ducted heating and brilliant for allergy sufferers. The downside is the cost not only installing but ongoing running costs. The boiler is a tad expensive to run.
Thats why so many people have ducted because for around 3 - 4 grand you can do an entire house and they are fairly reliable. The romantics and country crew will swear by wood fired heaters so take your pick.
