Ask him where he is in WA, if he is within a 100km radius of Perth I'd be more than willing to check it out for you Unless he is on 'special op' in which case tell him to place his service weapon in his mouth and pull the trigger.. Haye oxygen theives...

    Hello,
New member. I just had to sign up, cause unfortunately i was just as a couple of days ago, one of the unlucky ones who fell for the same scam ozchips got. Mr Barlow was who i got too. Exact same e-mails too. But that is not his real name, its an identity that was stolen by one of the other unfortunate people that was scammed like me. I've never bought a car off the internet. And now i have learnt my lesson.

Western Union should have rang alarm bells.

What on earth made you pay all that cash without even seeing the car for yourself, or at least having someone you know verify it was legit?

I was lead to believe that the Escrow company was legit. I paid the money to an agent that was going to hold onto the money untill i said i wanted to keep the car or not. He would of deposited the money into "David Barlow's" account then. After no e-mail the next day, i checked the Escrow's webpage, and it no longer existed. Thats when i knew something wasn't right.

Yeah I can see how, If it's like the one posted here it looks pretty convincing.
I'm sorry you lost your money and hope the scammer gets what's coming to him.

I've already reported it to the police. And at the moment i dont want to say too much. I hope they catch him too. But to clear it up, David Barlow does exist, and is in the Raaf as a flight seargent, but his identity has been stolen.

was it the same vehicle ?
do not worry to much about the state police , they cannot do areal lot , the feds are the way to go , unless you have friends that are coppers then you may get some help .
I too would be interested how you found this particular thread ?

I typed in the name of the Escrow company and this was the only link that came up for titletransferguardian. Then i realised i wasn't the only one fooled.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it might be worth changing the thread name to try and give people warning about the fake escrow company but as they have now disappeared there doesnt seem much point.

Unbelievable how they find people to stooge, sorry to hear for your loss Rossterboy.

@ Sanity, most Google searches i do point back to this forum on the first page of results, the other night i searched something and 3 pages in i found a link back to Austech.

I hope the feds catch up with this person. Cause apparently its not the one vehicle he's try to scam off. There are more than just the one. I wish i could give out more of the information i have on him, but if sees this, and he knows how much i have on him, he'll run for good. Hopefully i can be one of the ones responsible for helping track this scumbag/s down. I'm from a very small town, and i know the local police well, and they've got nothing better to do then help me. And hopefully people will see this thread, and realise how easy it is to get sucked in.
