    Default Phoenix DVBS 250S2

    Hi all

I have a Phoenix mpeg 4 Sat box and i was wondering if anyone has the Firmware updates for this box because i am having problems with it for instance it will not pick up c band but it will pick up Ku for some strange reason and it will decode audio on a channel but will not show the picture.

    thanks James

Have you set the lnb value to 5150?

    Just thinking the obvious things.
Although you say you have the lnb set, in the menu for the cband search, did you set that menu to the right Cband lnb...perhaps you are still scanning with it set as Ku. In most receivers you will find they are set by lnb1 lnb2 etc.

go into your antenna set up
set it to 5150 and somehow save the setting
then go to something like manual scan
select a satellite your dish is sitting on, and scan a freqency on that satellite (a transponder) and save the scan/channels when done.

What satellite are u pointed at?

If you can set it to auto scan, then it should scan thru all the transponders, and then you may have to save after it finishes scanning them in. The other way is to set it to the same frequencies you are receiving channels on your other receiver.

i think it has something to do with it getting the signal because when i do the antenna setup because when i scanned C1 in i would select c1 in the antenna setup and then it would receive quality and signal but with the c band (Asiasat5) you select the satellite it would pick up nothing no S&Q it is a very weird box

You do realise there is no cband on C1...or do you have a dual c/k lnb?

Sorry, can't help much without knowing your receiver set up, but it sounds as if you just need to nut out the menu's and how to save the settings, as you can do it all on your other receiver.

I did note someone selling one of these on ebay the other day, and his reason for selling was the same as what you are saying...he couldn't change the settings.

Anyhow...that don't really help does it...

I use this same model on Asiasat 3S C-band for MPEG-4 channels and the box works fine? It must be your LNB set up.
