Thumbs down GNS 8365 reads "program application database not found" ???

I need some help here, i've been trying to update my gps from igo6 to igo8 + current maps. I have had a rummage through the pages of austech and have tried renaming the root folder and the application name to MobileNavigator with no luck at all. All I get is "program application data not found" when I fire up the gps

Here are some pics of my SD card structure, hopefully someone can pinpoint my errors and get this thing working again.

On img688, you said current map, but did not see "Australia_Telestra_R16.1_090708" on it?

Hello laogia and thanks for the reply.

This is what I have loaded on the card now

    "Australia8.3WhereIS_R17_100211.fbl", this and basemap.fbl.
I tried again and still got this -----> "program application database not found"

    any clues?

Could be a problem in your sys.txt file, like in the-

    [folders]
    app="%SDCARD%/MobileNavigator"

    -area.

It depends on what the GNS 8365 calls the SD card.

What iGO is telling you is that it can't find it's data.zip file. This is probably being caused by the app = line in sys.txt. Why people keep trying to use this I don't know as it's only really meant for very special configurations and is simply not needed in most cases. iGO is smart enough to figure out where it is being run from and find it's support files all by itself. So my advice would be to remove that line from sys.txt and try it again.

    Cheers, Ian

If in doubt try 'without' any sys.txt first

Hello posters and thanks for the help. I have made a little progress by using laogia' sys.txt. The igo tries to load (looks pretty cool) then displays this "Failed to open file: ui_igo8_da/480_272/main_scheme.ui" break "exiting application."

@laogia - I checked the branding zipped folder, it had "ui_igo8_da" in it but the data.zip had "ui_igo8"

@Jards88 - I tried deleting the "app=" line and i got the same note "Failed to ope......blah blah blah"

I also tried deleting the "480_272/main_scheme.ui" file and got the same answer lol. I guess it cant open what doesn't exist :-(

Lastly (i'm messing around with it as i type) I have had a major breakthrough, as silas suggested "try it with out sys.txt" I did and it worked, looks awesome. Hasn't found any satellites yet but it was always slow to load/locate them. Tested it in the car, brilliant, locates satellites quicker (or it seems to) and looks pretty good, far cry from the old.

Good to hear the system works. You could rename "ui_igo8" to "ui_igo8_da" on data.zip. I tried to load on my device as:
Jards88 adviced: remove "app=" system load O.K, but all the button from setting/about " help, legal, safety" loading error?
silas adviced : If you load inside the house, GPS keep scanning communicate port.....and can not connect to sattlie. and same as "help, legal, safety" loading error?

    Default it worked

It's worked. I took silas's advice removed the sys file and it worked. haven't actually had time to see if the thing works porperly. but it turns on runs through the notes and goes to the main menu.

I can't thank you enough to all who have helped me and others get their igo's working. I can now pass on your help to someone in another forum who has the same problem.

1st edit: Tested and working. i used to autodetect in teh gps advanced section to get it to pick up the saterllites.

2nd edit: It's working well, but haven't got the voice working but will update when i find out how.
