Hi, people!. I recently bought this gps unit at Deal Extreme:

The problem came when i set up a password in Windows CE, and restarted the GPS. It ask me for the password, but there isn´t a keyboard to write it. The vendor refuse to answer me, so i´m very frustrated. I have decided to install a new firmware, so, can anyone please say to me who is the suitable firmware for my unit?. Thanks in advance!

Hi all.
I am very confused from this thread.
I used to work with the mesada GPS.
and I update the firmware many times.
Now for the first time i have an eroda GPS that stuck in the welcome screen.
Its a 4.3" device with internal memory of 2GB.
I tried many of the firmware that you post here.
I also tried to use the firmware of mesada but it seems that nothig happen.
Am i doing somethig wrong?
I will be very thanksfull for ant response.

I am very new here in this forum and I hope, that somebody can give me a hand.
I bought a new 6inch Touchscreen GPS Navigator with Bluetooth and FM-Transmitter;

OS: wince 5.0

I have installed iGO 8.3 and TomTom. The gadget works very well, and I can access the system and wince easily from the menu and via desktop (Active sync) as well. There is one drawback only that bothers me. I cannot yet rid or exchange the existing pretty awful and unproper startup-logo. Sure enough, I am aware that I have to mod the bootloader and change the image right there, However I cannot find the bootloader at all. The ResidentFlash partition contains 4 files only. Another ResidentFlash2 partition seems not to exist.

Hi Javaid,
I´m sorry I dont know how to update your OS, but if you have to setup a new wince platform, think about CE5. WinCE6 does not accept easily TomTom-Navigator software. It took me weeks to get TT run on a chinese GPS gadged with the CE6 platform. Now it works, but it was extremely complicated to install it. Most other navigator software run easily on CE5 and CE6 as well.
I wish you find a quick solution for your problem. Firmware update and description you will find .

jeez i dont know how many times i have to tell you people, you CANNOT change from ce5 to ce6 and you CANNOT unbrick a device that has the wrong bootloader flashed, the easiest way to avoid all these problems is to NOT INSTAL MIOPOCKET on Chinese devises, you are bound to be disappointed.

How to upgrade a new startup-logo?
Meanwhile I have found a solution by myself:
For a new startup-logo store the new graphic logo in bmp-format on the microHDHC memory card and reboot the system. Memory card must be formatted with FAT32. File name must be "Logo.bmp" The system will react with an infoscreen and accept the new logo.

It is a nice unit and works with iGO8 from a micro SDHC-memory card.
Unfortunately the device does not give access to the OS.
Does anyone know how to access WinCE5 system?

The manual describes how to set or change startup-logo, however
the button for setting logo is missing. I tried to flash with a
Logo.bmp file and with a Logo82c.bmp but could not achieve success.
Does anyone know how to update startup logo?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Great post thanks.I have two of this Chinese double din units. Everything was fine until couple of day when trying to access navi (by button or menu) just got black screen nothing happen. I only known it's a hoatoa 900i with 128mb 800x420. Since I cannot access navi menu can I do anything???can I flash it??. I m using Igo primo. Worked very well. Thanks. Quick edit the menu is same of your 2 first pics.

I have a gps with these specs:
Cpu arm9 msb2501 400mhz
480X272 65536
screen size 4.3
Ram 64mb
Flash 2048mb

ROM VERSION: PM82_V2 2010-09-10

I bricked with this gps while I was editing the registry, now nothing works Erasereg.fmt,Yformat.fmt... nothing..it hangs on the car and windmill screen.

I would like to ask anybody to help to get the mentioned ROM version with bootloader too.

Another problem , is that Windows XP recognizes is as MStar USB Serial, but no device driver can be found, does anybody have a driver for windows to use ActiveSync under Windows?

Hi guys, I have one of these 7'' devices too (800x480, 2GB sd-card, WinCe5). The users' manual said that there should be Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth icon was nowhere to be found.
The start screen of the device looked totally different from the pictures in the manual. So I flashed it with the ROM-dump shown in post #402 (thanks so much for that), and now at least the welcome screen looks like an I-phone, the way it should be.
I can see the Bluetooth icon now, but when I press it, my China-GPS doesn't find any other Bluetooth devices. My cellphone(s) can't find the GPS either.

Since I don't know if my device ever had Bluetooth at all, let me ask: are there 7 inch GPS machines without bluetooth?
Or did the flashing de-activate Bluetooth and the FM-transmitter? Because both of these do not work, despite both of the icons being present on the welcome screen.

Is there any update for this device? Currently it doesn't work very well. It freezes and is unresponsive sometimes. I would love to put WinCE 6 on it or even better Android, but I can't find anything relating to this device.

Any help is appreciated.

With winCE5 and 128Mb youre on a winner.
Forget trying to change op sys.

not find it on any forum and I came here looking for.

I found it here but unfortunately this in Russian Russian WinCE and I have difficulty dealing with the operating system. It would be helpful and would be very grateful if someone post this firmware.

Okay, guys. I have more information about my device. It's a China GPS, 7'', resolution is 800x480.
After flashing it, the screen looks like this:

All the icons are there and looking fine. And everything works fine, except for Bluetooth and the FM transmitter. These are the firmware details:

Under "memory", I see 128 MB RAM

The device runs on WinCE 5.0 build 1400. There's a sticker on the back of the machine that says "2GBFM". I have a 2 GB micro-SD card in the slot, working fine.

Why are Bluetooth and the FM transmitter not working? Did I flash the device with the wrong firmware?

Oh, by the way, I went into WinCE and under "system", it says that there's no bluetooth device connected. Does my GPS have Bluetooth at all? It says so in the manual. So why ain't it working?
