You might have the wrong LNB Type try in Dish Setup try 11300 or 10700 LNB Type then try to manual scan with ALL option in Scan Mode so it scans FREE and Encrypted channels. Let us know how you go
Hi mtv, thanks for the quick reply.
I selected Optus B3, put in all the values given by Lazer for D2 and its given me about 4 channels so far, but no ERT.
These are my settings from my box, I've copied them directly as they display:
(Here's to hoping I give you guys more clarity on my situation - Massively appreciate the help so far!)
Dish Setup
Dish: 1
Satellite: 152.0' Optus B3
Transponder: 12608 H 22500 3/4
LNB Power: 13/18v
LNB Type: 9750/10600
22KHZ: Auto
Switch Type: None
Option: None
==========================
Scan Satellite
Optus B3 Scanned Free Channels:
Ch 1 PPIO (Russian?)
Ch 2 DMC (Thai)
Ch 3 CYC (Christian Youth Channel)
Ch 4 MRTV (Asian?)
That's all the channels I get, there are no others.
=================================
Scan Transponder
Dish: 1 Optus B3
Frequency: 12608
Polarity: Horizontal
Symbol Rate: 22500
Code Rate: 3/4
Scan Mode: Free Channel (Tried All Channels, but can't view, Paid Obviously)
Network Search: Enabled (Also Tried Disabled, no difference)
PID Search: Auto PID

USALS Setup
My longitude: 11.9'E
My latitude: 44.9'N

This is all the info I have, I'm hoping there is something I'm missing or is out of place, hoping I can be corrected to get this working?
I hope this helps, if there is anything else you want me to check and list, I'd be more than willing, if possible maybe someone could give me the correct settings, that I could add in? I'm really lost Once again Thanks for all the help so far

JR, The first thing that needs to be addressed is something that may be causing you confusion. What the STB actually says and what the STB actually sees coming from the dish can be two different things. For example, if you do a scan when your receiver is set to Optus C1, but your satellite dish is actually pointing to another satellite, say, Intelsat 8, it will happily scan in the channels and list them under C1. In other words, your receiver has no way of knowing what satellite it is pointing to and relies on you being correct. Those satellite entries that you see in your setup are only pre-edited groups that are there for convenience and can be changed to anything you want. It isn't a matter of selecting an entry, doing a scan and getting the listed satellite. In fact, if you did that you would only scan in the same channels from the satellite that your dish is pointing to over and over again, but, listed under a different group each time. Am I making sense ?
Now that you understand that You should be in a position to understand that if you can only see the 4 channels listed above then your dish is either out of alignment, the LNB skew needs to be tweaked or the LNB settings need to be corrected based on what kind of LNB it is that you are using and the default value created after the reset, or a combination of all three.
Have you moved the dish at all?
Was this a Foxtel (C1/D3) setup and you decided to go free to air (D2)?
In any case, those channels you listed above are in fact on D2 (frequency 12706 H) and all are coming from the single transponder (transmitter) 16L, which tends to imply that your dish is not aligned to the entire satellite.
Cheers
OC
P.S. By the way TelePadrePio is an Italian network, not Russian, although they do often transmit some religious services in other languages.

Good to hear
Lazer
Hi everyone, great to hear you got yours working Chucknorris
As for me - Jackpot - got it working too ....But?
Lazer I tried the LNB to 11300 and it didn't work, now I couldn't seem to get anything - it would say looking for signal ...?
I put in single user and manually added 10700 LNB Type option and it worked.
Only thing is I now don't have the other channels like Turkish, German or RT News, etc. My parents speak and understand Turkish and German, even tho there Greek, so if possible I'd love to give them these channels too.
I use to have them as well as ERT before I stupidly did the factory reset, any ideas on what I could do to get them as well?
Just to note, when I selected single user to manually add the 10700 LNB, I noticed an option for Duel User which allows:
LNB Lower Frequency
LNB Higher Frequency
LNB SW Frequency
Would this option allow me to add a wide range so I could find more channels? And if so what do you recommend I use, in terms of frequency?
So far your help has been Stella and I am very grateful
Also To Optima Collins, thanks for the further clarification, the dish was pointing in the right direction and I had all the channels apart from ERT before I did the factory reset. I never moved the dish and it was not a Foxtel C1/D3 setup. I had this specifically installed for just free to Air.
Hope this makes sense, once again - THANK YOU EVERYONE
The LNB you got on your dish is a 10700 one so the rest of the low and highs aren't really needed if its already working
Check out this site it lists all the frequencies you can add to get the rest of the channels

as per the pm I have replied to, the details are the same for all boxes
Lazer
Hi all
I'm trying to help my sanity by finding the ERT channel for my M_I_L.
I, and a few others have tried re-scanning so all the original settings have been lost.
I have zero knowledge on sat boxes; could someone kindly guide me through the process-step by step. (she has a Strong SRT 4653 box; I think re-setting all settings might be the way to go)
thanks
Use that as a guide and use the frequency as posted above

Hi Lazer
how do I re-set all settings to "default factory" ? I think given that so many people have messed with this box that would be a good place to start.
cheers
Make the satellite settings to Optus B3 or Optus D2 whichever is in the list and try scan again you might have to change the LNB settings aswell
Lazer
I re-set the unit to its factory default and re-scanned (using the instructions a couple of posts up ), but now pick up nothing. There are obviously other settings that I need to input but have no idea where to start.
I checked ERT and all the ther channels on D2 today... all working fine.
So there is no issue with signals, so it's either decoder/dish/LNB settings or a combination of them.
Have you read the tutorials in the Newbie Satellite section?
First, you have to ensure your dish and LNB are correctly aligned for the satellite you are trying to receive. eg: D2
If it was working on D2 previously and you haven't moved anythig, then it should be ok.
Next, you must match the settings of your decoder to the local oscillator frequency of the LNB you are using.
The two most common LNB LO frequencies are 10.700GHz, sometimes shown as 10700, and 11.300GHz (11300).
The matching value, depending on the LNB you are using is entered in the dish settings in the installation menu.
If your decoder doesn't have Optus D2 in the list, use Optus B3 (Optus D2 replaced B3).
Select single LNB, power on, enter the LNB LO (10700 or 11300)
Exit out of that.... you will be prompted to save the settings.... yes.
Then select blind scan and ok.... this will scan the entire satellite and tune all available channels.
You can always delete any channels you don't want later.
If you don't have the correct LNB LO entered, the scan will not work.
There is another type of LNB, universal, but we won't worry about that type for now..... unless you tell us that's the type you have.
